AVIATE don’t join !

Now, the LCC/ULCC and legacies all improved greatly too over the period. That said for many that live in the base, a regional career is very appealing and if you think all is sunshine and palm trees at the legacy your'e mistaken. They have their issues too. Long term career wise you can't beat the money at a legacy, but both the LCC/ULCC and Regionals are certaily legitimate options as well. Living in base at a regional is generally a much better QOL that any commuting. So, it comes down to what is most important to you? Money, or QOL? Now, if you can move easily.... get to that Legacy and live in base. Best of both issues.
Finally, I'll add that flying your own brand has long term security value. You aren't going to be subject to a whipsaw flying your own brand. This gives the edge again to going to the LCC/ULCC over the regional.

Yes, I have heard this as well.
I currently have a CJO from a ULCC and an AVIATE 121 partner, both with upcoming class dates. Just about everyone has recommended that I choose the ULCC, that QOL will be much better, with better training, treatment, professionalism etc. But the path to UA seems significantly faster through Aviate than a ULCC (which wasn't true a couple of years ago) and will probably remain that way given all the Aviate pilots coming through the pipeline.
What are your thoughts? Is the risk of getting stuck at a regional (ie upgrade failure) worth the potential time saved? Is life at a regional for 3/4 years that much worse than at ULCC for someone with kids? Appreciate any insight.

All regionals are not the same. I know you guys just got raises and a few good CBA changes but frankly it's still far behind the leading regionals. Compared to how things were in the 2000's and 20 teens, the current better regionals are actually darn good jobs. Picking a regional is as important as picking a legacy. They are not all the same.

Going to the crappier regionals were a get in and get out type deal. Get the hours, put up with the crap, and move on.
Obviously the past few years, that general saying didn't apply. And I don't know where it will settle now.
And the crappy regional move only works when there is hiring and movement to the legacies and majors. Music stops, well you're now stuck there longer with crappy work rules. But at least if the legacy you're tied to comes cost cutting, your crappy cheap regional has a decent chance of surviving a whipsaw vs the more expensive one.
Regional bases come and go. But either way, one that does offer a base where you can drive can make a huge difference. It can make putting up with the crap regional a lot better. But I wouldn't go to a crap regional if it means commuting vs going to a better regional and live in base. Even if it meant staying there a bit longer.

Go to the ULCC, getting to United will be much faster than Aviate. There was a new United class with a few people through Aviate. One was from Mesa for 7 years. Theres a video of him crying on Mesas instagram, which is kinda cringe but I dont blame him cause he was at mesa for that long. Dont be an idiot, go to the ULCC. Youll be hired at a majory within a year or two.

Because Aviate is a scam. Just because they advertise that you'll flow to United in this amount of time doesn't mean it's actually going to happen. Changing in this industry and right now it's going to be years.

If you're in the 1600 category, you are the last to go. The 500s are going to class several months before the 1600s. 2030 goals and all.

Aviate and United are being sued over Consumer Fraud for how terrible the UAA is.
Unfortunately I’m sure there is some legalese in the documents student sign that absolves them of delays that go beyond the marketed timelines.

How do people not see these schools scams for the scams they are
paying >$100,000.00 for dumpster fire training for a really lame tons of small print promise of something anyone who meets mins could get just the same.
Seems being a salesman is even easier with the newer generations, back in the day you had to have a much better pitch to get suckers to bite on the line
