They did, the MEC turned it down, and it never made it to the pilot group for vote. Something about, out for blood and making SKW pay for DAL's mistakes.

I want ASA pilots to get what they deserve but that's a two way street.

Let the ASA conversation end here.

"Finally?" Isn't Skywest on a serious hiring spree?

Yeah...sorry if the sarcasm was a little hard to detect. I started ground school a week and a half ago, and I think they're still running RJ classes every other week...so no matter who you are, you aren't the low[est] on the totem pole for long.

In other words, YOU WILL NOT HOLD A LINE, the only bid you'll have is which reserve shift (4 am-4 pm or 9-9)and are you senior enough (LOL) to get a few weekends off. I thought that would be clear.

If you’re in MKE but want SLC then it will take you 6-8 months to "hold" SLC and when you do you'll "hold" reserve. Why sit reserve in SLC when you could hold a line in ORD making more money with more days off; regardless of the commuting FLT length. Every situation is different and people see things in different ways; but if you like sitting around not knowing when you'll fly while being a "true" company b1tch then maybe reserve is right for you.

haha well that truly sucks. I've worked 121 before and don't remember having to deal with that. Anyhow, thanks for the clarification. I presume things won't change much as far the west remaining senior. Hell, I used to live in Chicago. I guess I could stand another winter until I could be based out west. 'Course by then I'll probably be eligible for upgrade, but that's getting a little too far ahead of myself......

I interviewed with Skywest about a year ago and at the time I didn't get the impression that it was so difficult to work out of the western states. Have things changed much in the last year? Maybe I should bid into the EMB-120 as soon as I can

Oh, and for the record - yes, I think turboprops sound cooler

They offered a concessionary contract, complete with pay cuts that was beyond insulting. The MEC was correct to turn it down. I'm happy for you new guys getting hired, just remember this is the same management ultimately.

How soon after getting hired at SkyWest do you find out if you will be in the EMB or CRJ?

They should have told you immediately...they normally assign a class date when they hire you. Did you not get a class date?

If you have significant turbine or 135 time, expect the RJ. CFI, probably the brasilia.
