We asked him about replacements and he said there is no good replacement in the 30 seat range right now.
They have to be looking into other aircraft in the next 3-5 years. Maint. is only going to get more expensive on an aircraft that is out of production. I understand that the cost of a prop blade is nearing 80K now on that thing.

That’s about it for 07. Either way you look at it, it’s good that SKW’s growth has slowed. Currently we have quite a few ducks running around and we need to get them in a row.

SLC EMB CA: About 1 year
SLC CRJ CA: 2.5 Years
SLC has historically been pretty senior...the recent rapid growth in that domicile has really lowered the CRJ seniority, but I would expect that to go up since PNCL is supposedly going to be operating some DAL 900's out of SLC. This is unconfirmed but seems likely...not sure if this will replace SKW flying or add to it (I suspect it will be in addition).

It has to be in addition seeing our flying is currently protected.

Our aggregate flying is protected, but I don't know how much, if any, domicile-specific flying is protected.
DAL could possibly transfer some of our flying to another base. Even if the SLC flying is protected, DAL could have simply offered to trade X amount of SLC flying for X+15% flying in ATL...
I think DAL's motive here is diversification in the event of a strike (unlikely at SKW in the near future, but maybe they are concerned about the alpa thing). I think they are doing this throughout their system.
