Default Holliday Sick out?

We seem to have the perfect storm brewing at Comair.

1) Sevagio retires. Conveniently right before the hollidays I might add. Also, I have heard that there are Memos in everyones V-file claiming that we "NEED A GOOD SHOWING" over the hollidays. We have never gotten one of these before? Why now? Are they sensing something is coming?

2) We have a bunch of FO's getting furloughed early next year. If they have any time in the sick bank...they will likely use it strategically this holliday season. Why not be with your family when you know that unemployment is coming.

3) We have a bunch of Downgrading Captains that are finishing IOE right now and being thrown onto researve for the rest of November. And yes, you guessed it...everyone is working over Thanksgiving even though they are in the top 20% of the new seat and could easitly hold those days off.
Some of them might be calling in sick.

4) The endless number of people that aren't holding what they once did and the boundless frustration and angst that comes with it. What might they do?

The easiest way to ensure Comairs smooth ride through this Holliday season is if the most senior individuals volunteer. The reason I say this is because anyone who does not see themselves with a future at Comair is walking off with thier finger in the air. People who need Comair to survive have a real dog in this fight. A Junior FO doesn't care anymore and most of your downgrading captians share the sentiment.

Ironically, this is also the most unlikely outcome.

Did anyone have any problems with the last paycheck? I just checked my bank account and only just over half of what was on the paystub made it into my account. I don't know if it's the bank or Comair (I'll take a wild guess and blame the latter) but I am sick and ****ing tired of being screwed by payroll.

edit: just to be sure, the 11/15 check should be the 'cleanup' check from the 2nd half of October, correct? In other words 37.5 hours x payrate, plus per diem?

That just made it worse. I think we can expect a lot of sick calls, unless the company will start threating people, which won't do any good.

It is not Shrinkair. Comair inserted into word jumble comes out as A-MICRO. Hence here-forth I declare Comair is officially renamed AMICRO!

I did. It said $38.52/hr instead of $47.98/hr. But at least we're growing since we voted yes on concessions.

These are all owned by Comair...well I guess Delta, since they're going to sell them out from under us.

Here's the link:BOMBARDIER INC. aircraft for sale or lease, Regional aircraft for sale or lease
I would assume that if Comair owns them, there are no lessors for those aircraft?

Our contract sideletter with Delta says Comair must maintain fleet levels with the exception of 50s previously scheduled to return to lessors, and 70s or 900s may be added to replace 50 seaters on a 1-to-1 basis.

Since we won't be getting any 70s or 900s, if Comair removes an owned aircraft won't that void the sideletter with Delta? And then can't we all give ourselves some time off for the Holidays?
