Awesome! More mainline routes....

I see you got than info from an A.net thread. They are speculating whether it is a jump start on a possible Southwest route. Southwest has just purchased a bunch of slots in LGA. Good Luck to DL if they do come into LGA, but if I'd be WN, I wouldn't bother starting flying into LGA, I would turn around and sell those slots now (to DL)

The imbalance between average employees and those at the top has gotten so far out of line there is a lot of anger. Expect me to take cut after cut while they still get rich, I don't think so! Creates a vicious circle. Basically what we have had going here for quite a while.

I looked at the press release, and I think you are on to something. It doesn't sound like SWA to fly in there, but then again ol' Herb is no longer the CEO. I got the impression though that since ATA had slots they looked at this as an opportunity they couldn't pass up. You can't just let something so valuable just disappear. So they will either start flying in there or if they can they may very well, "lease" those slots out.

Southwest - LGA

It is a fact that in 1979 a CEO made an average of 50 times a regular employee.
Yet in 2008 an average CEO makes 500 times a regular employee. Anything wrong with this? In 30 years the cost of a CEO has increased 10 fold. And they wonder why the economy has gone to crap!!!

These are all owned by Comair...well I guess Delta, since they're going to sell them out from under us.

Are those part of the original reduction or are those new? They say for sell since September.

I guess the question is how much does this really affect us or is this just reducing our spares?

They are not part of the lease returns or any reductions stated by management. So they are not part of the "five" lease returns for next year and are not part of the ones from this year. Unless we get more airplanes look for more fuloughs beyond those in January!

Just a curious note: Whats the furlough situation at comair these days?

How many so far and how many to come, if any?

P.S. isn't it funny that Webster defines "Furlough" also as "A temporary release of a convict from prison"? Got to love this dream!
