Are you talking about a rugular crew swap or a repo aircraft swap?

As far as ac swaps, it seems to be occuring at an ever increasing pace these days. Used to be, I could fly throught the system in the same plane with maybe one change going through CVG. Now, it seems that at most outstations you are changing planes. I had a 3 day trip a month or so ago that we changed planes every leg.

I have heard that with the coming slot system in JFK that DAL will be reducing many flights out of there. I still can't figure out why the JFK bid packet increased in hours for Feb, with no new crews, and the CVG packet decreased.

I think it's all a conspiracy to make my life hell.

Very reliable! Right now it's in the planning stages due to trying to wedge in as many flights that DL will allow into each bank. It will be gradual and not all at once, beginning with March's schedule and should be in full swing for late spring early summer.

There's a variety of factors from fleet reduction to making sure a/c make their scheduled mx at a mx base and you also have to factor in dwindling spares and AOG aircraft the put a kink in the schedule.

Does Delta give us a cash bonus for how many crew members our company can burn through in one day? Everyone complains about how this company has no captains, when the truth is we've got tons of captains. The problem is, they're either enjoying 4hr sits at an outstation somewhere, ferrying parts somewhere first thing in the a.m. and RON for 22hrs, or dead heading all over God's green earth to operate one leg, then dead head back and, oh, what do you know? They've timed out!
I guess I just don't have the big picture, though......

P.S. To the folks in scheduling, etc., keep up the good work. It's not your fault......

Is there going to be a vacancy bid to send more pilots back to CVG? I wonder if this adds any more reality to the rumor that a BOS base will be opening up..depending on how much flying we lose at JFK. Would Comair ever go down to a single crew base operation and completely close down JFK?
