HUH? You already have benefits on Mesaba and Compass. NWA doesn't differentiate the Airlinks for nonrev travel. After all, it's all NWA flying, just operated by a partner. We have access to FC or World Business class, it's just for a fee, as opposed to being free on DL. Our boarding priorities are different from mainline, unlike yours. In the end, none of this matters as the entire DL group will be streamlined under one pass program. It seems most things will remain as they are for DL, but big changes for us with a red tail.

Maybe I didn't word it correctly. The rumor was, that we'd be given the same benefits as Mesaba and Compass. And, as I stated, I have no idea what those benefits are, but was told that it was no priority travel (s2) and no access to first class.

I now know from your post that you pay a fee for First Class. I sure as hell hope that gets cut, although I'm sure Delta will gladly charge for both first and coach now. I wouldn't be surprised to see Delta require everyone to pay yield fares, although the commuting group would sure raise hell.

As from what I've been getting from contacts at DL, things should stay the same for us, which I hope is true. If not I'm bailing to RHS to chuck bags if they get better nonrev bennies. I'm jumping over to Delta when a decent job opens up. That way I won't have to worry about any of this DCI rat race crap.

We could merge and still have the same travel benefits, its just that the flights are gonna be too full to get on anyways.
Sorry if it came across as making him sound naive. That was not my intention. Was just trying to point out that they aren't really hiding anything. They are pressing forward and for the most part, if you ask the right questions to the right people, they will tell you what their intentions are. As far as being naive, I was just saying that there are quite a few people that think it will never happen. Most of those are actually senior folks, who are probably more so in denial about it.

Stop listening to rumors regarding the new pass travel program. From what I've read, things mostly stay the same for DL folks, except for some increased benefits that we enjoy now at the red tail. The bulk of the program will be as it is now, therefore the red tailers will see the biggest changes. IMO, they are good changes.

For us: free FC if space available, boarding priority based on seniority, good buddy pass policies etc...

For you: you gain opposite sex domestic partners

For all: inlaws or step family (can't remember which) members can use your benefits and the fly confirmed for less program remains.

Yes, we get to pay the $50 users fee, but I think that's a very fair trade for what we're getting.

In regard to a merger of Comair and someone else... it seems that you Comair guys are the only ones talking about it. That's evidenced by you guys being the only ones with a merger assessment for whatever their calling it.

Some good news! Hopefully they incorporated some of the same safe guards that the Delta MEC put in their's.

Gotcha tone is sometimes lost in text form. I agree with you that DAL will probably be merging more and more of our regional functions, as for us going with a full blown merger (one operating certificate, Ops specs, manual, etc) I doubt that will be coming anytime soon and most definetly not until the mainline merger is complete.
