I think we will see a decrease in hours, but this memo is specifically talking about Delta mainline and international routes out of JFK. With that said, I would still rather be operating out of JFK this day in age versus CVG-whose days are numbered. Also, as bad as the decrease in hours are for us, I would rather Delta cut unprofitable/underperforming routes then continue to fly them and lose money, just so poor old Comair can fly some airplanes around.

Here's an article from Vladek's crash if anybody is interested in what happened. My thoughts and prayers are with you buddy.... Officials comb waves for possible plane wreck - Times-Standard Online

Actually I am. I live in New York and if I get called back, I'd be in my glory. More JFK is more gooder.

Besides, CVG is dieing, if not already dead. Just hanging around and flying in and out of there because most of our employees live there makes no financial sense. If the flying was to leave JFK then the company will have to pack up and move to where it is. That is the life of a contract employee/company. Even for the wholly owned. If Delta decides that Mesaba will now fly out of SLC instead of MSP and DTW, they will have to pack up and leave. Such is life. Either live with it or move on.

Edit: Sorry for the rant, I'm just tired of hearing all my friends at Comair either complain about getting the JFK flying or telling stories of people who complain about getting the JFK flying.

I am based in JFK and I love it. I wasnt complaining about JFK, just saying that as Delta moves us to their international hub they announce international cuts. Seems like were always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Thanks for posting this. Did I read in previous posts that an engine failure was a strong possibility? Perhaps that would explain the low altitude so far out. R.I.P.

Wide open for us going from JFK to Dublin, Ire and Shannon, Ire back to JFK. First class both ways, and about 40-50 open seats in the back.

Delta's international flight expansion hasnt gone as well as they hoped it would, now is the time to hop the pond if you were planning to.

Take a look-see at the USA Today's article today about Delta's re-allocation of flying as the merger continues...

If we didn't see this coming. There was no way that Delta and NW would merge and no jobs would be lost. Now that the economy is still horrible, Delta will be slashing jobs and blaming it on the economy. Did you see the next article down on EPIC about how Delta is taking it's time with the NW merger? This way they can get as many cuts through on the economy as possible. Just a week ago Delta said that they were pleased with the amount of folks to that took the early out/55point. Now it looks like they wish it was more. I wonder if Delta is actually letting it's volunteers go, or if they are keeping them in the dark as Comair is doing.
