No. I am saying they are comparing schedules from the previous year. We don't have a schedule for the fall yet. So of course we have to assume that we have the same schedule as last year for now. And if that is the case.....then yes.....a block reduction is in store for us. But until we have a solid fall schedule, who knows what is going to happen post September?

I'm just going to go out on a limb with the the size of the company now and the current economy and say that we will have a smaller schedule this fall as compared to the last. But I'll go along with ya. Maybe we'll get United flying in the fall, maybe we'll recall 300 furloughed pilots, maybe we'll get Q400s. All doubtful. Perhaps a merger maybe?

My theory, I think that we will have an increase of hours for the fall. My reasoning for this is that Last year Delta was selling a merge to their employees. Of course they will promote their own flying announcing new destinations for both NW and Delta. While the other legacy carrier where downsizing, furloughing and cutting back. I believe Delta will furlough pilots in the fall, cut route and increase the regional flying. And they will blame the economy. If they blamed it on the merger then the merge would have not been approved. So did I pick the wrong day to stop sniffing glue?

I don't recall Obama ever saying everything is "ok"..he's been pretty somber and frank about the terrible condition of this economy, even during the campaign..when he was screaming for overhaul..and McCain was saying "the fundamentals of our economy are strong"....

Ya, Mosquito, I'd go back to sniffing glue... The truth is, seeing how things have been going for Comair, we can infer that an even larger block hour reduction will come in the fall, with more furloughs. Lets face it, we see a 10-12% increase in flying against a 20% drop from one year ago and no recalls? There can only be one reason for it and that's a sharp reduction in flying starting after the summer season.

I think we will see a total drop of our increase in flying for the summer and then some. My projection is for a 15-20% decrease after the summer season. I project Mesa to get more of our flying. I also think we will see more of a shift toward the NE and less in CVG even after this current shift.

It was on Friday, Obama said "The economy isn't as bad as everyone thinks." Take it for what it's worth. Just after Warren Buffet was stated saying "the US economy has fallen off of a cliff."

I have more confidence in Warren Buffet when it comes to the economy than the president who is just trying to keep people from freaking out.

Warren also said "He has never seen Americans more fearful." So one could infer that Obama is heeding the message that people need their fears eased.

I'm no Obama fan, but fear is making a bad situation worse.

As to the person that asked what this has to do with Comair. Last I checked the bad economy has effected every single airline, and is the current threat to all of our jobs.
