Comair updates?
I realize that it sucks to be on the street. However, I am just being realistic. We know that there is a rather large reduction in block hours coming in the fall. Larger than the normal fall pull down in block hours. Management is not hiding this. I am just trying to keep some of you furloughed guys from getting your hopes up just to be let down AGAIN. I it would be naive to think that a recall is coming anytime soon, but you're entitled to follow that train of thought. I wish you all the best and I hope you find a job outside of this place. For those that await a recall, I hope you get it before the sword falls on the property.
Looking at this company's direction realistically, unless there is a mass exodus of senior pilots or we get more airframes, most of those who are on the street or are getting ready to hit the street will never come back to Comair. Richard Anderson wants to get rid of most if not all the 50 seat regional jets at DCI. Our inventory will continue to dwindle till there are none or there is a small fleet. With limits on scope in regards to 70-76 seat aircraft and there being several DCI carriers with contracts the hold Delta's feet to the fire, the wholly owned carriers with 50 seat RJ's are going to feel the burn.

If anyone cares, I hear Houston is the hot spot for jobs, got an interview/test with Harris county to "fly" 40 footers at $15.00 hr will
help you with your CDL "rating". Is this what it has come to???
Oh and the people who make Budwieser are hiring too down there, starting pay from 12 to 15 hr, top out 23-27 hrly. Something to do until the industry turns around. All the best for everyone out there, I am more than a little concerned about Comair right now but enough of that.
Anyone see Star Trek yet? Watch it at tvshack.net
Latest Comair rumor(s):
Planes are being put back into the flight. Supposedly, they have hired an extra 5 avionics techs for this.
Staffing of crews is extremely short right now, possible talk of recalling some furloughs back (yes I know that is contradictory, but things change fast in this industry, you all know that.)
Come fall expect a huge sced pull down which is why to company does not want to recall furloughs. (confused yet?)
Does anyone know what the hell this company is doing?
No decision in sight for the Delta v. Mesa stuff yet, spoke with a Mesa pilot who confirmed according to Mesa releases, no settlement or any under the table deal has been reached, according to him, he was told to expect the worst, though J.O. and company feel that they have a good chance of winning.

Is anyone else having trouble logging on to maestro from home? Seems like it takes forever to open.
The company is still in the process of demoting supervisors in scheduling department and the like. Perhaps they are bringing on extra avionics techs to help get more planes ready for return. Or better yet, we are getting electronic flight bags!

We have not hired any new avionics techs. We have those in MCO that have decided to stay on at Comair and transfer up here for the MCO closure. The only aircraft returned to service is a 50 seater that was going to go to Pinnacle but Delta changed their mind. It did it's flight test yesterday and is in service today.

This plan may be working out just perfect for Delta and Comair managment. If they furlough enough in the fall, the most junior guy on the property will be a 5 or 6 year FO. The downgrades will go so deep that the most junior CA will be over 10 years. Furloughed guys won't want to come back and will have moved on. Some of the semi senior guys will leave because they don't want to sit right seat for a near 40K pay cut. They will get what they want. Give it 3 years or so and Comair will be hiring like mad(if they are still around). The guys at the very top will be retired and it will again be a junior airline with 10 Year Captains being the senior.
