You seem awfully worried about a call back.....you know something I don't know?

You are correct, bypass only applies to voluntary furloughs. But u don't have to worry about it now. I do not see any recalls any time soon.

Ha! Dream on. Just trying to be proactive in case the day comes. I know I'm one of the few, but I don't want to be called back just yet. I'm hoping for a couple of years on furlough, and don't want to be scrambling if/when recalled trying to figure out how to stay gone longer.

Do you have any idea as to the logic of this? I don't see why they'd care so long as there was a warm body to fill my spot. This part of the contract must be the second "gift" left to me by the authors of the current Comair contract. The first being Comair reserve work rules and method of assigning trips to reserves.

Maybe if I bypassed, I would then become a voluntary furlough????

Maybe a leave of absence could be approved. I'll email a union rep and see what I can turn up there. I'll post any news.

I highly doubt many on here are worried about bypassing

I honestly think the company has NO idea what's going to happen. I've heard everything from 50-100 recalls to 200 furloughs. I guess the truth is somewhere in there

I'm working 7 days a week and still can't afford to stay in my crappy little apartment or buy much food. I'll take your spot with a huge smile on my face.
