CT, I wasn't trying to take hope from you - if it appears I was, my apologies. Though one must admit, I simply quoted what others said.
Perhaps you guys may want to start there, however, they are simply expressing thier views in light of facts as presented to them.

And I have the answer to everything huh? Seems like you already beat me to it.

So, ASTAR just announced furloughs. I think local news just said 300 employees total and around 190 something pilots.

When I flew for Comair I had these guys in the jump seat quite a few times. Some really nice guys. Hate to hear that.

This thread went to the second page and I can't let that happen. Quiet around here recently for the most part. Any one hearing anything new? Are the CP's still talking about recalls for the spring in ground school?

The only talk about recalls I know about is from JB that was published on epic:

"I am impressed with their enthusiasm and eagerness to get back to work serving our customers," John said, echoing his commitment to work hard to put Comair in a position to bring back other crewmembers still out on furlough."

I’ve heard that in the last recurrent ground, JB said we would be retrofitting the 700s to a first class configuration. In addition we would be adding 30 or so flights out of LGA.

This is new news for the area, but old news for the ASTAR pilots. They've known about that number for more than a year now.
