Emergency operations commenced today. Seems the company can't deliver on its obligations to Delta while delivering on its contractual obligations to its employees.

I find it amusing that not a single recalled pilot chose to come back on the mid-December date that was offered. They're not stupid enough to subject themselves to Satan's minions in Crew Scheduling during this time of year.
Spent 4 hours on the phone between me and the CA with scheduling. As they wanted us to ferry beyond the 3 hour limit and then DH back almost 12 hours later...essentially their attitude "well not our problem" (even though we could have ferried the day prior or bring in a reserve crew from cvg), so deal.

Eventually got them to move up the ferry flight and then just released ourselves and went home.

I mistyped the date of that quote. Should have been May 2009.

I knew what you meant, it wasn't that long ago.

On another topic, it seems that Eurostar is trying to duplicate Comair's Christmas fiasco:
My Way News - Eurostar train services canceled indefinitely

Has anyone heard more about the Duty Rule change that should increase staffing levels? Last I heard it has been delayed for the time being.

Yep this is true. Evidentily Babbitt is getting heat from ALPA, ATA, and the RAA who think everything is just fine. So he is making the excuse that they need more time to study the issue. Just another politician making an excuse to drag this out. Who knows when this fill be finalized. This country is too worried about health care at the moment.

Unfortunately it will take more loss of life to get anything done. Someone one once told me that FAR's are written in blood. I agree.

You don't want to come back to Comair. Things are worse than ever.

I think it will take a very long time before Comair recalls more pilots. I just updated my Skywest application.

Just wanted to take a sec. and wish all my fellow ComAir friends and colleagues a very Merry Christmas!

Also wanted to thank my buddy ("Tink") for his service to this country and wish for a safe return from another Iraq tour. God Speed and "Check Six". (hope the mods don't delete for any "religious" overtones)
