Yup. It's pretty much all RJs now. Besides the 767 to CDG, the rest is all RJs, 737s and Mad Dogs. They used to fly 757s out to the West Coast, Florida, etc. Not anymore.

Maybe with Air Canada (Jazz) coming to CVG it will attract some other airlines. Southwest could make a killing if they started service out of CVG with a couple routes down to Florida and Northeast.

I know most on here are furloughed, but who has the latest rumors from any recurrent ground school class or just what is floating around on the line? We need something interesting to get this thread flowing! There has to be something in the rumor mill.

Any rumors of any of the wholly owned going away? I've heard one or more is going away and or combining. Where one would go I have no idea, they can't just make it go away. Anyway you look at it there is going to be a shake up this year. I fear the wholly owned are once again going to take the brunt of the negative end of the shake up.

I don't see the furloughs lasting that long... but anything could happen I guess.

Yes, the company can cut furloughs loose after 5 years. However, I think the union and the company can also sit down and negotiate some sort of extension to that 5 years, in the event a furlough reaches that point. At least that was always my understanding!

Ya, hopefully CMR ALPA would fight for us if it gets to that point.

I hate to say it, but I don't see Comair ever agreeing to any type of extension to furloughs. That would be a horrible move on their part. Most of you are below 3 years seniority, so if they gave an extension to that they would potentially bring you all back at 5 to 8 year seniority. RA would never agree to that cost.

Why would they keep you when they could let you go after 5 years and hire more qualified pilots to take your place at 1st year pay?

It's a horrible thought and it makes me want to vomit, but would you put it past them?

Or do furloughs not build seniority?

My understanding is seniority yes but we don't build longevity. So if you got furloughed before you hit your second year and then when you go back your still on first year pay for the remaining.

I could be wrong nothing new
