I have the same interpretation as well. I am also on the understanding from the last furloughee confrence call (last dec??) that ALPA would be looking to negotiate with the company to get a furlough extenstion should it last that long.

I hope it doesn't last that long.

I hoped for LGA swap. That had some possible growth(recalls maybe) but Gov't doesn't like that

JAL thing i think could be a potential growth but not likely now since they stuck with american.

Mesa lol that seems to be hanging in there by a thread and has probably the most likely source of recalls but won't give in.

Well it's a wash in my opinion, training costs would be a lot lower for the guys who came back, as opposed to hiring new people and putting them through a full training program.

It makes sense to bring us back, we know the company and the operation. Already typed in the airplane, etc.

I'd really like to see a few more recalls, the next batch of recalls (if they're to happen) would dip into the January 09 guys, which would be very interesting to see how many will bypass, since those guys have been out over a year.

Why would they keep you when they could let you go after 5 years and hire more qualified pilots to take your place at 1st year pay?

It's a horrible thought and it makes me want to vomit, but would you put it past them?

Or do furloughs not build seniority?
seniority yes. pay no. when i return i have a feb DOH and was furloughed in OCT. i would have to work 4 months before i would go to next year pay rate. so if, for example, i were in that january recall class i would have to work untill May to get a raise. That date when then be my new "DOH" for pay each year. My original DOH only factors into non-rev flying and jump seating.

Hi guys! Quick question. If you received UI from KY in 2009 but are currently living in CA, do you have to file state tax in KY too? In other words, I didn't earn any income from work in KY in 09.
Thanks in advance.

No. Are you collecting through the interstate program?

Yes. I exhausted both my regular KY and CA fund and am now under the first federal extension. In other words, KY is still sending me my UI checks.
