So since Delta now has a hub in Tokyo their opening a 50 seat base there and Comair is going to fly the routes........

This OH shift to DTW has 2 things written all over it:

Pinnacle strike mitigation through the increase of regional carrier overlap and redundancy.
Staging Comair for an eventual merger with Mesaba.

I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out why, in the name of God, Mother Delta would shuffle all the carriers around like this. And these are only plausible explanations I can come up with.

3. Freedom is big in DTW, by September they'll be gone, and OH will cover that stuff.

ya know... I thought that going to DTW would suck as a crew base... but from a commuter standpoint it's not too bad.... plenty of flights each day to ATL and other places... not too bad of a base really... still want cvg though..

DL has a Dept entitled "Employee Life Interruption and Disorientation". They are tasked with causing as much change and discomfort as possible to the employees.

I think this is a more plausible explanation.
