Ditto...that's the truth/standard.

If you got a couple hundred bucks laying around, and want to get your head back in the game of flying, that's understandable.

One of the nice things about flying 121 is you don't need BFR's. The company takes care of that with recurrent.

Your license is yours, unless the FAA revokes it.
CURRENCY is the company's problem, and whether you show up to training with a fresh BFR flying a 152 around the patch will make no difference in your training @ Comair.

Hypothetical; in the part 91 world, if you let your BFR lapse, you have to go up with an FAA D.E. for a ride...isn't that what your checkride is?

If you applied at other airlines during furlough, ya...you'd better have everything up to snuff regarding currency.
..but,I remember hearing about guys/gals furloughed at the majors in the past who hadn't flown in years during their furlough. The company had to get them back up to speed.
...just my $.02

expect a second round of recalls... i am willing to bet almost if not all of the 15 voluntary furloughs bypassed.... that leaves recalls if more than 14 decided to resign... and that seems likely... very likely...

Guess that was a vague hypothetical.
The question is, part 91, if you hadn't touched an airplane in over 2 years (some of us will be close) you'd have to go up with a D.E. to do an IPC/BFR (in the FAR's ... 61.56)

At Comair, you'll be doing that in the sim.

No you dont have to fly with a DE. An instructor can do both a BFR and an IPC for someone regardless of how long they have been away from flying.

61.56(c)
Except as provided in paragraphs (d), (e) and (g) of this section, no person may act as pilot in command of an aircraft unless, since the beginning of the 24th calendar month before the month in which that pilot acts as pilot in command, that person has—
(1) Accomplished a flight review given in an aircraft for which that pilot is rated by an authorized instructor; and
(2) A logbook endorsed from an authorized instructor who gave the review certifying that the person has satisfactorily completed the review.

You got D.E. from that?

Besides if you were getting recalled you wouldn't need a BFR or an IPC. You're not the PIC.

Are you guys seriously asking these questions about currency, BFR/IPC? Pick up a FAR/AIM or do a search online.

And yes, you guys will get Jepp approach plates when you get back to Comair

+1,

How about this if you have the money and feel that you need it, by all means go ahead.
