My understanding is that CAL will hire UAL furloughs per the transition agreement.

I am sorry for all the Comair pilots that are going through this. It is unfortunate that the regional groups that did thier best to hold the line on pay and work rules with semi decent contracts are systematically being gutted.

I wish all those at Comair the best.

One must ask why do this cutting instead of shutting the whole thing down and selling the assets?

I suspect the intrinsic value of using Comair and the massive pay cuts they are about to take as a lever against the other regionals is worth a lot more.

We are about to enter a new era of whipsaw like we've never seen before. I hate to see pilots, FAs and mechanics lose their jobs in the short term, but in the long run, you'll probably get ALL the growth if you get yourselves cheaper than Mesa. We'll be the ones without jobs.

Wish I was still 27 or younger and could join the Army to fly helos. 25 is the mile marker to get cheaper car insurance. Who knew that 27 would be a mile marker as well. If your regional airline job hasn't worked out by then, hurry up and join the service. My uncle once called it another form of welfare. Maybe he was right.

If your uncle called military service another form of welfare, then I doubt he ever served in a combat unit under fire. Welfare doesn't require getting shot at.

Bottom line, you are still responsible for your MEC.

We supported your strike action and you left our guys on the street for years.

Comair is/always has been a contract carrier.

Services no longer required.

Sorry to all that are affected, but it's not anything new where others haven't been for longer than you.

Grow up a little and welcome to the new age of lawyers listening to accountants running airlines.

He served 2 tours in Vietnam. Call it what you wish. I just know that it could help a lot of people out right now. I may soon be one of them. Good luck everyone.

Navy and USAF are 27, but I think Army goes to 33.

Don't give up just yet on helos.

Well, if he served then thank him for his service.

I know it could help alot of people out. I came off retired reserve back to a guard unit that is scheduled to deploy after our equipment is modernized. Without my guard income and benefits I would be screwed. That being said, it is still alot of work and it can pay well. It is a good opportunity for new members as well, just make sure you know what you are getting into.
