Once again, those who you consider "unworthy" will be shoved to the street. Some will find jobs, some won't.

They ALL will remember how their union "brothers" stood up for them. How they "took it back."

And when you find your management won't capitulate to your demands...you will have them...you will beg your "brothers" to stand with you...after all, you're fellow "union men"...right????

Don't worry.

They'll remember.
DAL scope prohibits this. What's happening at UAL/CAL is not allowed by the DAL contract. Our MEC has been proactive in working with management to prevent exactly what you claim will happen.....which is exactly why it won't.

Everyone calm down, the sun will rise tomorrow.

I say that as someone who will be laid off due to this announcement.

It stinks, but just like flying, panic and blaming solve nothing.

But who will they buy out? The ones topped out on the payscale? And who will replace them... the ones also at or near the top of the payscale. Buyout, would not save money unless they would be able to replace them with much less longevity.

I doubt they didn't know about this two weeks ago when the last class started. Guys walked away from jobs that might not be there. They said in the memo that they want to let everyone make plans for the future or some bs like that... where was that thinking 2 weeks ago?

Racer X type for sure. Makes me sick someone could be so selfish and inconsiderate. Glad it was you Cessna because if were me I would have severely gave him a piece of my mind. These jerks are out for themselves... no matter what. One small step above scab if you ask me. At least fake some empathy.

I think comair did have pref hiring... it was the seniority number resignation issue.

Comair is/always has been a contract carrier.

Services no longer required.

Sorry to all that are affected, but it's not anything new where others haven't been for longer than you.

Grow up a little and welcome to the new age of lawyers listening to accountants running airlines.
No. You are wrong. I am not responsible for something that happened when I was 16 and in high school. Neither are the other 500 or so hired after that happened. I think GOD that i will never have to fly with you. I am sure it would be suicide inducing. I have met people like you. Whine, Complain, vindictive and toxic... and guess what most of the will still be employed by comair. So your whole revenge.. haha that's what you get rhetoric does nothing to them.

Hundreds of pilots lost their jobs back then too.
I don't know RacerX but if he was one of them, he deserves some leeway.
No he doesn't. People who wish harm to people totally separate from the instance are delusional. He has no concept of time.. i am even questioning his simple math.

For some reason I can't PM yet. Do you mind PMing me? Thanks. Or I can just try MP. I called him a bit ago, but I'm sure he has his hands full right now.

So reading that Q & A, it looks like they plan to hatchet the company and package it for a sale...

Yup! Go to marketwatch.com (I think it is) and they even say that's exactly what DAL is doing. The whole thing is depressing, but 10 years from now hopefully we will all be smarter and better off.

I believe REGIONAL is now defined as any route between the Atlantic and the Pacific coast as long as one airport is not a major hub.
