You know in those Zombie movies when the people are running from the zombie hordes? They go for a mall or police station and there's always one experienced tuff guy who brings up the rear to make sure everyone makes it? He'll kill a pile of the zombies but in the process he always gets a scratch on the back of his hand or a bite on the shoulder.
A couple hours later he's laying on the floor, skin turning gray, already room temperature, and he can't get up.
"Help me get up,", he says, "I've got a plan and I think we can still take these zombies." Then he wonders why all the other guys are circling around him with shotguns and hockey sticks.
Comair is that guy.

That link shows the overall moral at the company and also says that they are accepting resumes. Hmmmm. This should make for a fun day of reading.

I'm curious to know how this is going to play out.
With the company offering a selection of options for people to take a break and quite a few people biting the hook, you know what's going to happen for the more senior guys.
The people who's quality of life sucks the most right now are going to take one of the packages. Be it a Cola, Voluntary, or Early Out. Well, pretty much everyone's QOL sucks, but you get the point. The guys just above the ones that have been downgraded who think their life is bad now, are going to see how bad is when they become the most junior people in the company now.
Looks like their master plan is working which is why NG4 still has a job. Good luck guys!

I personally know of 10 more that are going to sign. About half and half between early out and 6 month Cola's. All around the 5 and 6 year marks. I wonder though for those guys that want the colas how this will work. They will have to offer colas, early outs and voluntary furloughs at specific times. Else you would have guys take a 2 month COLA and avoid a furlough, then come back to work after two months while guys senior to them would be furloughed. Something tells me those 6 month COLAs are going to be very senior.
