That sounds good Red but the company keeps putting out COLA's.
I've also wondered if Delta will see this trend and accelerate Comair's fleet reduction

I've been out of the comair loop for a while. Im just curious, what is the official/unoffial scoop about comair as far as the plans for fleet reduction and furloughs? I realizing nobody really knows for sure. But what is the current plan?

Its a wide spectrum of rumors aviator. When the memo came out about Comair's new strategy in September most of us newly returning FO's thought we would be canned again by the end of March.

The company put out the early out plans again and this time they had about 70 takers.

Comair is also losing quite a few pilots (looks like 10/mo) and so the projected furloughs MIGHT not happen until 2012.

Most folks feel that this is Delta's last chance to get Comair trimmed up enough to sell. If they can't sell a 49 plane company then the most likely next step would be to dissolve it and send the planes to whomever will give 4-1 trades on the 50.

Hopefully not, I don't want to have to resign and give my flight bennies away.

Thanks for the info. I really havent flown since I left comair. But im in management for a medical company now and I hate my job. The pay is great but I can't do this forever. I've been looking at getting back into flying as a part time instructor. Maybe build some more time and get ready for another hiring boom. Good luck to everyone still there. Looks like it will be an uncertain ride for you all.

Hey gang! Just compared the total flight hours (DTW and CVG) for December and January, and there is a net loss of 2500 hours. Does anyone know the projected hours for the remainder of the first quarter? I thought with the closure of the 50 seat base in CVG, that they were just transferring the flying to DTW, but the January numbers tell a different story. I have no trips thus far on my line for January, just the standard 6 ready reserves, so it looks like a quiet month . . . . AGAIN!

Attrition is factored in for all of our departures, I think 2011 furloughs may get lucky but 2012 furloughs are hosed. 12 more days left at this dump!!!! Ryan said block hours will go down all year, and they will not take on additional flying so aircraft can leave property as scheduled (to let the reduction go as planned and not delay it any)

Hey guys/gals, i wish you all the best at comair and hope you find a greener pasture. I will be another to leave in two weeks as i was offered another airline job..(4th).
To those who flew with me, it was great to have you backing me up in the cockpit. But what that tells me now is you're probably still on furlough, so Im sorry for that as I have been there also..(2nd airline).
Good luck to all, Diver keep in touch..
