If he wishes to fly again I hope he make a go for it...I remember reading about a man that had both legs amputated and he was going for his commercial license. So it is possible, but obviously an uphill battle physically and I would imagine the mental aspect would be the hardest part.

My doc signed me off for work, I'm just waiting for them to change the status on my line before I drive back to CVG. I'm sure they could use a 70 FO.

 

At least it seems like he's not defeated and is in good spirits. I wish him the best.

 

A little bit of good news...

They moved up the April upgrade class to March 24th and they made 2 upgrade classes in April instead of 1 for a total of 6 upgrades in march and 24 in April. Better than the original 12 only planned for April.

However after the 12 more upgrades planned in May there is not another one scheduled until September. Hopefully those get moved up as well.

I heard that Mesa refused alot of flying over the summer do to their poor staffing and that is the reason for moving the upgrades up a few weeks.

 

I've had a long time standing bid in for 70 FO at 50% conditional for a while and I finally got it. Training to start May 12th. I called crew planning and they said I am actually at 41%. It did go pretty junior, which suprised me. I thought more people around my seniority or higher would have bid over.

Now I have to learn to flare and land again! Yikes.

 

Oooo, got some interesting info! Just saw in the SOCC breakroom, that the Crew Shedulers want to unionize witht he IAM! (Letter from the NMB) Good luck!

Yeah they're all CVG overflights. Now the weather guru's are saying starting this evening we'll be in blizzard conditions and now the total projected snowfall is over 15 in. Hey at least my son is getting some use out of his sled for the first time this winter!
