RJTRASH:

we dont close open time what we have we show. We never close it we dont even have access to close it.

Planning can close it but not day off

planning and scheduling are two different departments

So it's planning that makes the decision to allow pilots access to open time then?

Regardless, someone has open time inaccessable to pilots. It's not on EPIC and if you try it from SBS, it says "not authorized". Yet, if you go to the FA side of SBS, it's always available.

It just seems like if they are in a rut and you guys are calling folks at home to see if they want to come in before officially JMing people, I would think it'd be accessible to pilots who maybe want to pick up some EF. That way everyone wins. You guys get your flights staffed, a few pilots make a little extra cheese and some other captain/FO is not forced into a JM situation, possibly ruining plans and/or family outings.

By the way, was that you that gave me the "courtesy call" the other day about my displacement? And was that you that I had the conversation with when I was in LGA last week about that ridiculous taxi from QNY and then going back to the hotel for 6+ hours to wait on my next flight only to find out that the taxi had cancelled?

thats a contract issue for the flight attendants there contract prevents the company from hiding open time your does to for a limited amount of time.

My accesse isnt allowing it to be seen either. so either there nothing there now or its an I.T. problem

No, not at all. Absolutely professional. I was just trying to put a voice to the webboards.
