Comair updates?
I feel the same way. I am a local, NKY born and raised. I watched OH rise and was there as an FO when they fell. I was furloughed and called back. While in class from recall, I was told I was going to be furloughed again. I stuck it out almost one year and was then hired by another airline. I don't know if I ever will apply to Delta but would like to know, if I did I would be given a chance to at least interview. If I did get an interview I would hope that I wouldn't walk in and have some one say: "oh, you worked at Comair. Thanks but no thanks." For crying out loud I was in middle school when all the BS when down about RJDC and JC. Just because I needed a job, had the hours, and wanted to work for a regional airline, that shouldn't prohibit my life.
Ouch......where to begin!.
Ok first, I'm referring to mgmt.
Second, you might be implying about the time when your MEC came to ours and did not ask, but instead told us to accept your furloughees at the same seniority as they were in mainland with pay adjusted accordingly. Yet when our MEC asked for some sort of reciprocation, it was irrefutably denied. Is that the time?. Well, you could see how that went.
Just remember there are enough people/companies "mighty" delta has ****ed off and stepped on along the way (PanAm anyone), and I mean more than one. And life is nothing but a circle. Have a great day.

We here at DAL fully understand that the junior-most guys at ComAir had nothing to to with the heartburn of post 9-11 furloughees and the RJDC.
At the same time, if you didn't do your due-diligence on the operation that you were stepping into, well what can I say.
I've been on many jumpseats. I've had a problem on 2. Both ComAir.
One, I listened to a senior (and old) -900 captain tell me his life story that ended with him stating that he felt it was only right that the ComAir guys should have gotten relative seniority when we bought them. Yes, that's right, an RJ guy should have suddenly been the #2 777 captain.
Second, had a ComAir FO tell me that it was only right that should they have hired me post 9-11, that I should have to resign my DAL number. "why am I any better or different than any other pilot" he said. "anybody else would have to quit their previous job."
If I have to explain the complete ridiculousness of giving away a DAL number to start at the bottom of ANY regional, then I don't know what to say.
Evil, the can of worms that you're playing with goes really deep, and I would guess, before your time..........
leave it alone.
From my experience, if you don't know other regional pilots and have never worked at an airline before, then knowing the infighting and bitterness between two pilot groups that happened seven years before is pretty tough to find out about - before it's too late.
Ladies and Gentleman at Comair,
I thoroughly enjoyed much of my time there, particularly at the GSO and JFK bases. I hope that all of you find greener pastures in your post-Comair work lives that afford you the opportunity to enjoy your "real life". Take care and best of luck.

You're amazing. In "all" of your commuting you have only had problems on two jumpseats...this me throwing the bullsh*t flag at you. Or, you're an unimpressive liar. Anyone who commutes on average sits in at least four to eight jumpseats a month...so do the math...that's a lot of jumpseats to only remember the two Comair jumpseats that you "had problems." But, I am certain you will say some lie about you haven't commuted that long or you just started commuting or some other erroneous fact to justify your statement.
Me, I have sat in thousands of jumpseats for the last decade of 121 flying. The amazing thing is, I have met some truely incredibly kind and gracious pilots (thanks to the DL guys who got me home for the birth of my daughter...thank you) and I have met some real dirtbags (the all DL crews who made me ride side saddle in the 75 jumpseat to JFK and spent the 1.5 hours trying to belittle me and my position at Comair while I sat there and stared out the window thinking about what I was going to do on my days off). The other funny thing is, I have had very similar experiences on numberous other airlines, so I find it difficult to believe you have only had the magical "two" problemed Comair flights.
Yes...this is me questioning your integrity. You should stop posting on this forum. You are making my profession look bad.

Depends on what your definition of a "problem" might be. But I would probably say "yes." But, I don't know you personally, it's a 50/50 call. Most people have a tough time telling the truth or just plain be honest...even with themselves. If you never had a single issue jumpseating you're extremely fortunate. So good luck out there, hope you continue have the same fortune. I personally can't say the same thing.

God bless you OH'ers. Never worked at Comair myself, but reading all the bashing you guys take from mainline and other regional peeps gets really old. Especially over events that occurred over a decade ago.
Never had anything but good experiences on OH in 15 years of revenue flights/jumpseating/nonrevving. I'd say that's a large enough sample size to make a fair determination. Recently, you guys have been doing quite a job in DTW bailing out the 'lower cost' DCI carriers that can't operate their schedule on a daily basis. You'd think DL would have caught on.......
