1st and 2nd class are good for a year now, your 1st won't laps into a 2nd anymore, but go right to a 3rd class instead.... so you still go once a year as an FO.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I'm not going to back through the last 100 pages. What are the last few guys in class being told? I suppose they are going to finish training, but then what? Will they go through IOE and then be furloughed in September? Just curious.

I believe they will at least get through IOE. Hopefully even their 100 hours too.

At our airport indoc two weeks ago I asked one of the CP's and he said their intention is to get us through IOE. I think the main reason being that we need to complete our initial training in its entirety before furlough. If they furlough us before we complete training, when we're recalled we would have to go through everything again starting back at indoc, which means more cost to the company (hotels, instructors, that measly $250week). I guess the reason they can't just have us pick where we left off is an FAA training reason (ie lack of an abbreviated syllabus).

Before you guys flame on me, I am very well aware that often airline management will often make no sense what so ever. And that the answer one day will be completely different from the answer the next. Either way its out of my control and all I can control is my performance in the sim. I am pretty much expecting a furlough notice upon completetion of IOE. I hope it doesn't happen but unless ALPA can come up with some plan to keep at least some pilots off the street, I expect that furlough. I feel worst for the guys that got their class cancelled three days before it began.

Ask him when the United flying will start? We did get it awarded, but nobody knows when it will start. Could be next month or next year...

Also, ask him this! If he wants us to be more fuel conservative, why the #$%^&* am I flying around empty airplanes all the time to ferry from one place to another, when they can easily run it as an extra flight?
