Comair updates?

HAHA Wow this is so ridiculous! So amazing... Well if management get's fired (unlikely) they would fit right in at TSA.
Summary: Oops, well it's totally out of our control.
Later: We promise it won't happen again.
How can you promise something you have no control over?

So I have kept asking all through the past few weeks when the morale lifted slightly... what has ALPA been doing? Seems like they've been off the hook the past two or three weeks as everyone seemed happy getting the new 90 seat aircraft. So... again, I ask.. what has ALPA been doing to protect pilot jobs? Again, the reps are silent or the one I spoke with had no new information to share.

This post might pee off a few people, but this is how I feel, and I don’t care what you think…
Like I said before, I am not surprised this was going to happen. Not sure if Mesa/Freedom will continue to operate the planes, if another DCI carrier will get them, or hell, even the mainline guys will fly them like some people say. I haven’t heard anything if J.O fought this or not or if this is the usual jerking around by Delta.
The other day, after getting jerked around by scheduling again and questioning flight controls logic about doing a certain task that delayed two flights and ended up displacing 8 crew members, I turned to my Captain and said “Why the hell is Delta is putting up with our crap?” I’d almost rather see those 14 CRJs go to SkyWest or PNCL, etc, because at least those guys run a fairly efficient operation with a scheduling system that works! We are canceling flights because Comair scheduling doesn’t know where their crewmembers are, or because they forgot to notify the captain for a flight (I’m not making this up). I guess we’ll just cancel the flight and ferry the airplane somewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if the recent events by Comair forced DL to re-think their decision. Right now, I don’t think we deserve those planes anyway, we can’t even run an operation with 13 CRJ900s. How the hell are we going to run an operation with seven more? I hate to see anyone get displaced or out of a job, but I think the only way we can turn around this operation is if scheduling, dispatch, etc. will run through Delta in ATL.
/end rant

So Delta tells us to get ready, we do, and then they pull out the rug. Then Delta says hey Comair get ready, we do and then the pull out the rug. Hey JS, ever hear of the saying fool me once shame on you???? Next time tell Big D deliver the airframes and we'll discuss staffing them.
Furthermore, this new decision makes me wonder if our friends in scheduling who are having trouble with the concept of 1 CA, 1FO, 1 FA for the 50 and 2 FA's for the 70/90 are partly responsible for our new predicament.

Chow,
You are probably onto something. I am very interested to see where these planes end up. Anywhere but back with Mesa (until they just go away) or Delta mainline would be a huge slap in the face to this company.
When is the company going to say enough is enough? These are people's lives they're messing with...........
