Pay is showing 28k gross after it's all said and done for my first year.
It's not a bad place at all. Fill a room with pilots and money, there will be some kind of complaint...

he's probably cranky about January's schedules. 73 hours, and 15 days off, I can't complain..
If I get 15 days off I'd better be credited 90+. I'm used to 17-18 days off with 87-90 credit, but 73? Well I am pretty senior, but even the majority of our junior pilots here get at least 82+ hours of credit when they get 15 days off.

Not senior here by any means, but happy with 16 days and 82 hrs...plenty of room for picking up stand-ups and open-time to destroy 100 credit - maybe I can beat my own personal record of 143:22

Does anyone know how likely is it to get St. Louis as a domicile when working for CHQ?

Yeah i got 12 days off and I only credit 83 hours! Its definately a huge pile of B.S.!!!!! But thats how the pairings are when you do SDF-CVG then CVG to LEX and then a 21 hour layover! Oh well!

Question, do they just send you where they want to if you get hired (meaning shuttle repb or chatq) or do 121 people usually go to the 170's and others go to the 145/135 operation? When/how can you bid to different equipment etc etc etc.....I am just curious if anything were to happen to my job here, Republic in PHL seems ideal..... just curious

STL is the largest 145 base. It would be pretty easy to get that out of training I would think. The trips are much better in STL as well. CVG probably has the worst trips of all the bases.

When they call and tell you the good news that your hired, then you will find out what certificate you'll be under. IF that is NOT the cert you want to be under I would say the following: "if a early class date becomes available on XXX cert, please let me know, and I will take this even on short notice." Then pack a bag, and be ready to answer and 317 area code before voicemail, else your out of luck. I'm 60 numbers lower because of missing that call @$#%@, cause they don't leave a voicemail..

Your seat locked for 2 years, but they cannot keep you from making more money by upgrading. This means that a FO can upgrade before the 2 years is up.

Long story...but scheduling is worse with Joe gone. A lot worse. I've never had any of the problems I'm having now when he was around. If you're on AVL...prepare to get hosed in every way possible. Crew Planning can suck it too.

HA. Yea right. Try 16 days off with an 84 hour line, and it's only like that cuz I needed the whole first week of January off. Of course...the 18 day off 91 hour line I had for December (all weekends/christmas/new years off) was a lot better. My schedule (that I actually bid for, not the one that gets completely destroyed by scheduling) is the one thing I don't have to complain about.

Oh man we should all go work there!! I'm just dreaming it now... Based in Sac-town or Fresyes, $19/hr great management team that only cares about pilots ( I mean they don't need a union right?). Or Maybe i can be Modesto based and finally be able to attend the almond industry conference I've been dying to go to.

Even at $19 an hour I made $28K my first year at SKW where as the above pilot made it at RAH making $23. In my first full year with SKW I made $51,619.78 which included 4 months at first year pay ($19/hr) and 8 months at second. I achieved this number by only flying 879 hours and averaging 15 days off a month. An understanding of the system and the ability to work it can maximize time off and income potential. It's not hard with stand-ups, deadheads, duty guarantees, daily guarantees, open time, holiday pay and getting displaced for IOE (then picking up open time at %150 pay on top of the credit for the displaced trip).

First year pay is going to be raised to around $24 in January.

Yes, we at SKW drink a lot of Kool-Aid, but Mgmnt has NEVER giving us a good reason not to have faith in them. Regardless of what you or others may say the majority of the industry dreams of a relationship like what we have.

So "Bottoms Up!"
