Skywest New hires
How long did it take you to get your ID or to be put into CASS so that you could go home during training? Where you able to go home during the weekends? How is the area near the training hotel in Salt Lake? How quickly do they process the direct deposit? Are they trying really hard to get you in the Bro? What happens if you elect to skip a class to get the Jet?
If hired at the current pay rate, do you get pro rated to the new rate once it passes? Just a few questions... thanks.

Well i'm from SLC, i don't work for OO but i do know the area around the hotel, i think ya'll stay in the candlewood or the ramada or something like that, anyways, its right next to Lofte's which is a great Pilot themed bar, Lofte is this french guy that is getting his pilot's license, real nice dude. You've also got the red iguana (best mexican food anywhere) which is about two miles towards downtown on north temple. Just hop on the bus and you're right downtown in about 5 mins. PM me if you have any questions about SLC, great town, just a little quit after 1 am.

I was home by the second weekend, so yes, I was able to go home on the weekends.
The area near the hotel is horrible. I would make friends with someone with a car, or just bring yours if you can. There's a few places to eat within about a ten minute walk, but I was there in the summer. Might be kind of cold this time of year. You can scam some free oatmeal and ramen from FlightSafety across the street, though. And if you're lucky enough to be in the Comfort Suites, you can have breakfast there and then you're set.
In my case, direct deposit was set up within two weeks, I think.
My understanding is that the pay will be pro-rated from January 16th. TonyWilliams would probably be the guy to ask. I'm sure he'll be on here any minute to tell you.

That's good to hear.... at Eagle I was able to go home almost every weekend right up till the beginning of SIms. I don't think the area can be as bad as the Admiral in DFW... well, I did enjoy the $1 beers from the hotel's restaurant. How close is the hotel to the airport and do they provide a shuttle from the training center to the airport?

The area isn't bad, it's just lacking for things to do. Bring a car, or befriend one who was smarter than you and brought theirs 
In hindsight, I should have enjoyed SLC a bit more than I did...But I wasn't built for the heat, and it can get brutally hot even in the early summer. Again, there is plenty to do, just have some wheels.
