Thin striped epaulets are not part of our uniform. Anyway, hopefully this is my last winter at AWAC....

I do not wear the hat. So shoot me.... I wore it until a USAirways mainline capt. said "AirWis is in the USAirways family yeah?" and I said "Yes sir" and he said "We don't wear hats in this family" and I looked around, and thought about how much I hated the hat, and I said to myself... I'm done with the hat.

As for the rest of the uniform... I wear it. I don't know why some guys wear a tan columbia jacket, or baseball caps. I don't know why some guys have mustache's that look like handlebars, but I don't really care either.

Plus---it largely depends on the base. There are very few hats worn in ORF. Just my $.02

I think we should go back to those bad ass retro uniforms like Pan Am...double breasted jackets and white hats....

Personally I dont mind the Whole uniform.....but id rather have every airline have a different look ya know? it seems like almost everyone nowadays is navy blue with pewter stripes and epulettes. I like that our Hat Brass is completely different than all the others.

Cap'n Leather Jacket is the D'bag of all D'bags.....hes got an opinion about everything...if you dont agree with him...he'll basically make u feel like the size mouse crap, until you break down and side with him....hes also a GA Designated Examiner (The kind you pray about not getting for your checkride)...that alone says alot about his personality

he delayed a flight for almost an hour because he refused to take an airplane that had a loose arm rest on the FO's left side....said it was a "Safety Egress Issue" we dint leave till he convinced a mechanic to jimmy one his his own allen wrenches in there and then secure it with speed tape

He also makes his cabin announcements like Gene Hackman in Crimson Tide...."This Is The Captain!"

HAHA..."spin up missles 1 through 5 and 20 through 24...THIS IS THE CAPTAIN". Just got a mental pic of Gene Hackman in that movie...

What a tool box! Trips with him must be extremely painful...

Contrary to *most* FOs I talked to, I really didn't mind working with him; folks were known to call out sick or trip trade when paired with him...but the best way I can describe it is "He's a GREAT guy to fly with, when you aren't actually flying."
