This is a good step in the right direction for us, These rates are better than Mesa, Mesaba, a little better than Compass on the Captain side, and even with skywest. Are they where they need to be, no, but its a step in the right direction and given the fact that we are in negotiations, this helps us out because it will go higher than this now.

is it just me or is this sad? Those fo rates are lower than asa's 50 rates? Someone said it earlier..... other airlines' rates directly affect the whole industry.....

It is called productivity, boys. A paltry 8% raise for a 56% increase in revenue. Once again the Monkeys get outsmarted by the Organ Grinder.

the only way we wouldn't be able to keep those rates up is if pinnacle did file for bankruptcy and forced it on us. why would we settle for and sign a contract that wouldnt be better than the arbitrators decision. like the arbitrator pointed out that these rates are put into our contract as if they were there when the contract we currently fly under was signed back in 1999. we have been fighting with management for 3 years now in trying to get a fair contract, and the arbitrator has helped us get started. and unless something crazy happens pinnacle is not filing for bankruptcy anytime soon. they have to much cash on hand and we are technically still growing.

so i guess this ruling is a good lesson for us all. a guy on our company sight took all the other regionals, mesa, gojets, mesaba, compass, comair, express jet, asa, skywest, etc, etc and took their 900, and 700 payscales and averaged them out and his post of what our pay would look like was almost spot on. the good and the bad of the industry has led to our current rates. union or not the money we choose to fly these planes for sets the tone for the ENTIRE regional industry. our new rates are a perfect example of that. these rates were decided on simply by the industry average. if we raise the average we will all have more money in our pockets at the end of the day.

Airsupport,

As long as you're referencing SKW as the baseline, don't forget work rules and bonuses. Pay scales are meaningless wthout the workrules...

How are your workrules?

How about bonuses...do you even get them? SKW performance bonuses are just beer money, but the financial bonuses are significant, in the thousands.

Also, when is this new payscale amenable?
