I just do not see PSA/PDT recalling until they are FORCED to. It simply will not be to ease the pain of reserves... I hope I am WRONG! I REALLY HOPE I am wrong... I think PSA could at least use 20+ Recalls for the summer and that many upgrades as well. But guess we will see what happens....

Recall the 2005-2007 when things were short and thus I know at PSA there were a crap load of cx flights. Which then meant they over hired and thus the reason we have 55 plus on furlough.
Add that to the fact PSA's pilot never went to Mainline like PDT you have more of a need for fewer pilots......

We're short staffed, but we're hiring! So, bear with us.
We're over staffed, so we're furloughing. So, suck it.
If you had the 900s coming on property as growth aircraft (as an example), or say PDT had Q400s coming (more FAs, for which we have a position in our schedules and more pilots), they'd know a real need for warm bodies existed in the near future. Short of that? They'll run every one of us to the FAA max as long as they feel like it.

Alright, to get back on the subject of Piedmont,
Ask Piedmont has posted...Not much in the way of recalls or anything like that, but there was a great answer by Bill in MX explaining the difference with aircraft produced before s/n 225. Basically, all aircraft are eligible for life extentions up to 120,000 cycles up from the original 80,000. He explained that Bombardier is in the process of creating the program for us, Jazz, and Winderoe to extend the life of the old 100's. They called it the ReNew program (how unique). This would also include updating interiors with new overheads as well as upgraded avionics. The s/n 225 is interesting because aircraft porduced after 225 included the new interiors but also a new wing. This is the reason why you could take these aircraft and put new more powerful engines in them and eliminate the weight restictions currently problematic on the 100s. It doesn't effect the one 300 as there is no weight issues.
So, 906 might have some more life in her afterall?

Typical response, PDTsters. The decision regarding the fleet will be forced by late this year. Lots of answers peppered with facts, but the truth of the matter is left out. How will you justify a 106 (edit- oops, I thought the 106 upgrade was the line for -200 numbers, Axe Piedmont says 103) upgrade to those frames? You can't (truth). But the possibility exists, so hang onto that (fact). A spar upgrade, a gear upgrade, an avionics upgrade, and an interior upgrade?! Really?
Back to Meyers with my question.
Further edit: The man answering the question is as straight a shooter you can find. I'm impressed by his efforts on Axe Piedmont, because he does a truly great job. The problem is he is operating under the same strange world our management is, and can only do so much. BA rules. He deserves credit.
