obviously this is all speculation at this point, but the ual dhc8b flying out of den still needs to be filled. mesa is not going to do it, and it seemed that pdt was having at least some difficulty making the case for only 6 phx aircraft. A ual merger scenario could result in pdt assuming both the ual and lcc dhc8b west flying, I believe it was 12-14 aircraft.

That was the plan that was talked about before Mesa's Ch. 11.

The last time US and UA were close to merging it would have meant the sale of PDT do to the UAL FA contract. It stipulated that all UAL FA's had to be on one seniority list. This may be something that they gave up in concessions durring chapter 11. It is also one of the resons that United does not have wholly owned regionals.
The question is why would anyone want to buy Piedmont? Out dated fleet combined with a senior work force does not make us atractive. Maybe sell PSA and if they call with in the next 5 minutes USair will throw in a free piedmont while suplys last.

either way, a uaua/lcc merge puts the old mesa dhc8b flying on the table for us, something which wasn't there before.

I heard that the permanent bid came out. Congrats to those who got what they wanted and for those who didn't hold in there.
I was doing some thinking which is a dangerous thing to do while on furlough. Why would the company come out with a permanent bid to be effective in May if they might do more recalls in May which would require another bid to be effective in June? What are the chances that this could mean no more recalls are planned? I just assume that they would have waited to move everyone around until they had everyone that they needed back. Is this a normal practice? I better stop thinking now. Beer time!
BTW, I heard that the CQ ground instructor quit
