As for duty, are the recalls required to go directly to CQ or initial or can we go back to the line?
sucks if you only have a couple days to study for CQ again.
I'm waiting to hear back from our Furlough Committee guy about which criteria we're under. There's some confusing and/or usage in the contract. It'll either be 3 days for a yes/no and 2 days to move, or 7 days for yes/no and 14 days to move. As far as CQ, I was due anyways, but we'll see what the letter says. We can't exactly start studying when we don't have website access yet....

I've always been confused about that too. How I understood it was, if you are recalled within 90 days you can go right back to the line without a trip to CLT. After that but before 1 year you have to go CLT for a quick ride in the sim. After 1 year you have to go to a CQ like training event. Someone also told me after a certain amount of time you have to go through initial again. Not sure what time frame that is.

Of course if you are up on CQ you would have to go even if you have been out for less than 90 days.

Anyone care to confirm or deny all that?

I'm sure it is the same at PDT as it was at PSA.... Basically if you are current in the Aircraft, such as furloughed and not passed your PC/PT yet you are ok with just a simple 3 Landings with a Checkairmen.... (3 in the previous....)

If you had a PT/PC go by and are not at a YEAR yet, the FAA is ok with the company just throwing you into a ground school and a sim for a PC/PT and away you can go.......

If it has been over a year on a furlough, the FAA will force the training department to take you in as a new hire....

At PSA when we were recalled it was at 6 months. However we all should have had a PT occur. THUS they sent us through a week of ground school to get current (basically a re-current ground expanded). Then onto CLT we went where they could have just given us a PC and called it a day. However PSA Training Department set us up with 2 SIMS and a PC. Then a difference training on the CRJ700... Followed with 10 hours of IOE with a Checkairmen (basically to get a line check completed).

Does anyone know how deep the recalls are going? Are they holding to that 8 number?

I'm not sure on the answer to the training question, but it may be different than PSA since we have AQP over at PDT.

Congrats to those ALPA Brothers and Sisters coming back! Its great to hear a positive and the way this is worded as Quarter... Since Jan-March is slow and we all know March-August will hopefully bring more back!!!

As to the training, does AQP make differences with PT/PCs as an FO? Hopefully PDT will be kind enough and give you all a sim session before a PC if you are up for a PC.... But at PSA it was up to the company and they actually did something nice and gave us 2 practice sims....

I'm not sure why you keep making the PSA comparisons. The only things we have in common are that we both fly for US Airways and we both want our furloughees back on the line.

The end.

JB was down at Training and said a Feb 10 class date for the 8 recalled pilots.
No EFBs, TAMDARs are awaiting MEL relief and that with MESA in BK everything on hold. Doesn't sound good.

Oh yeah, the life extension program only applies to SN 224 and later. Any planes prior to 224 are expected to finish their life cycles by the end of 2011.

Welcome back guys!

Clearly you don't speak for the entire Piedmont pilot group. If you did it would be a very sad state of affairs.

How many aircraft are prior to 224? And why does it not sound good? I figure Mesa in BK is a good thing.
