Did anyone notice they reposted the First Officer announcement today and took out the part about US Airways preferential hiring...

I didnt know they took it out, but when I saw it I was wondering why it is in there in the first place after this week.

Preferential hiring is pretty much dead at the moment, from what I have heard off-record from a pretty reliable source.

I wonder what all the possible hiring is for then. New (pre-owned) airplanes I guess.

Well I was told when I asked, that these recalls (sept, oct) are for mostly attrition... they said they were losing like around 1 FO a week to other regionals. Take it for what its worth.

So assuming this keeps up, and the possibility of new airplanes, 50 isnt a far out number I suppose. Who knows what the hell they are up to, I don't even think they know..

Funny because in Crewnews in CLT the other day Parker said the exact opposite thing..... I hope he was not your reliable source?

Well I wish those moving on to better things the best of luck. I'm crossing my fingers for a November or December recall class. Believe it or not, some jobs are worse than flying the dash. :-)

the crewnews in CLT took place on sept 22nd. Not exactly just the other day, and he didn't say just the opposite, he really didn't say one way or another. I'm nervous that pref hiring is on life support currently as well. It makes me wonder why it's in trouble?
