So the Permanent Bid came out and only one captain slot got taken? There is still 3 slots open. I wonder why no one is jumping on those?

All of the available positions were taken. The three slots that are open now are the result of captains moving to other bases; that creates vacancies for the second round bid.

The four open slots were:
2 MDT: Taken by GH (18) and PM (270)
1 ROA: Taken by BH (283)
1 SBY: Taken by MH (280)

One of those was an upgrade (PM); the other three are relocating captains, which created three captain vacancies:

1 EWN: Created by GH moving to MDT
1 MDT: Created by BH moving to ROA
1 ROA: Created by MH moving to SBY

This all used to be a lot easier to see with the way pre-merger Piedmont used to post the awards, which actually told you who moved where instead of just publishing a new base manning list.

On the second round award, they'll fill all of the slots, including those created by any other captains who choose to switch bases. If this had been a single round bid, then all of the resulting vacancies would have been filled.

Hey All - I am having trouble understanding the various rounds of the Perm Bid. I was looked at FIL 11-32 this morning, and I got my last choice of base - but there are currently openings in bases that I can hold with my seniority for round 2. Will a new base be reflected after the secondary bid, or because I am a 'primary bid awardee' im stuck.

Thanks!

It should change as long as you have your bid preference right on the website.

Does this still hold true even if its our first time being put on a base as a new hire? I ran into a captain upgrade who's in class with us and he said that because we're new hires, we're stuck at the base that we've been put at and don't get to participate in the 2nd round of bidding. I got my 4th choice of base, but after the 1st round, 1 spot was open at my 3rd choice and 2 and my 2nd choice--as long as no one else moves there will I get either of those or am I stuck at my 4th choice like the captian said?

Welcome to the first of many many disappointments at Piedmont. Get used to hating yourself.

Well, TAMDAR is now live on certain aircraft and the company is redoubling their efforts to not pay us:

According to the FIL, if there's a discrepancy between TAMDAR times and the OOOI times we record (which we're supposed to check with FIL####/APAX at the end of the day), we're supposed to call Dispatch and have them correct it.

We just called them to report a discrepancy and Paul told us that they'd received a letter from the Chief Pilot's office saying that Dispatch isn't allowed to override the TAMDAR times in SABRE. If they won't let them override the times, how are we supposed to correct our pay?!

Wow, this company sure knows how to pi$$ people off so that more and more pilots want to get out... ridiculous.

This place is going under and it's sad they are going to take a lot of good people with them.

If the above is true, this whole circus will probably cost them more then they will save with their cheap, low-blow, weasel way of giving us a pay-cut. They might as well give us the one fingered salute. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

Don't worry. They know what they are doing with this.
