You heard it here 1st: Delta/USAir deal will be done by Aug/Sept.
Prepare for LGA to close.

It's a "heard from" thing, but from what I could gather, it's basically done.

Good.... If it means USairways will be more profitable..... Also how much flying was PDT doing now with Mesaba showing up? Hopefully this means your planes get placed on the routes they belong in PHL and CLT.... If so this could, I realize not with the current USairways thought process behind PDT and continuing to not find a better replacement plane, mean your flying will be more meaningful to USairways.... Time to have the Dash back on the CLT routes like AVL, CHA, TYS, AGS, GSP, CAE, OAJ, GSO, and many others in which CRJ200's are running around......

We dont fly too much into PHL any more with PSA but I know there seem to be many routes CRJ200's are running on there as well that a Dash is more fitting... PHL to AVP, ABE, BWI, LGA etc...... Who knows..... At the end of the day June 6th USairways is finally starting to take the rest of those whom were hired back in 2007 by us and by August those all should be taken (roughly 16 from PSA/PDT for a total of 32).

close.. it's 12 from PDT, 16 from PSA for a total of 28. how/why do you feel it'll be by August? I certainly hope so but where did you get that from? I'm waiting patiently in this pool and am getting very little info about timelines.

Yes.

The bean counters probably have a good reason for CRJ's flying these short routes, but from the pilots perspective this flying sucks.

Does anyone know if the AVL- CLT flight is often weight restricted? Trying to plan my new commute. Thanks!

Why USAirways hasn't put Q-400s on Piedmont's property defies all logic and business sense...It is the PERFECT airplane for all of USAirways hubs on the East coast and would be a good choice for PHX/LAS also.

it's going to vary depending on weather (for fuel requirements) and how many bags people check and carry.

because that would cost money, and pharaoh doesn't want to insist to tempe that we need money, so pdt can seem like an economical operation...

AVL-CLT is usually a -300, which can go full with a jump, so no. Only in rare cases will it be restricted.
