some are not even showing up for class after accepting
some have left mid training
attrition, though, is the loss of existing employees, like people fleeing a sinking ship.
the reason they're putting off classes till aug/sep, is because their forcing all the guys that were going to take early retirements to stay until august instead of letting them go earlier as was originally implied in the agreements...
there was a guy that quit after two days on the line, both of those being 13+hr days and i heard that there was some commentary to the company about the treatment and the operation as part of the immediate resigning, or so the grapevine says

i can't guarantee thats how long it was, i believe thats what i'd heard, but it was definitely a short period of time
