I am flying with Bruce Right now and he said that as of some point in August (I forgot the date) LGA crew base will be no more.

i know they were going to do a council realignment, are you sure thats not what he meant? because they can't close a domicile with less than 60 days notice
and i would hope the association wouldn't stand for that

Heard same in LGA crew room today.

So much for "at the earliest in the beginning or first half of 2012" if it is true.

Correct about the 60 days and yes it will be closing as a domicile on the 31st

still no official notice, if the company told the afa (and/or alpa) why didn't either put out the notice?

No he is not talking about the union realignment. They are closing LGA as a crew base on the 30th or 31st of August. Apparently the AFA has known since the 1st that this was going to occur and respected the companies wishes to keep it quiet to not ruin people's holidays. Such a kind and compassionate management we have.

It's true: LGA closing 8/31 (growing MDT/ROA). I just heard it from DJ himself (my understanding is that he's on his way up there to break the news right now). Sorry guys.
