I think too many folks bash on ole Piedmonster because they don't want to admit he's frequently correct in his assessments. It's a hard thing to face when one realizes the company they work for is a stagnant mess and their future at such airline is likely naught.

Once upon a time Piedmont was a gold star regional with a high QOL and good contract. I even once aspired to work there and got an offer but was offered something a little better elsewhere at the same time. But those days are gone and not likely coming back. I have many long time friends on the senior side of that pilot group that have said everything Piedmonster has said and more. Personally I think the guy got out, realized there are better places to work and he gets frustrated to see people pinning their career hopes and goals on an airline that has been effectively raped of any real stability and positive QOL.

Piedmont is now on it's second concessionary contract, it's ALPA de-balled, it's planes falling apart and it's pilot group more angry than drunk RAH captains at an IBT Jamboree and it's future in serious question.

All that being said a job in the regionals is what the individual makes of it. It can be a daunting task maintaining a positive mental attitude in the face of so much negativity. Because as bad as things are on that property there are many pilots there who are quite happy where they are at and I know one or two of them as well.

A lot of pilots have had their careers harmed at Piedmont dealing with that training department, and many have had their careers dead-ended because they simply stuck around too long. But PDT is hardly unique in those aspects as similar tales come out of many other regionals and a lot of guys have done well at Piedmont and used the airline as an effective stepping stone to bigger and better things. A lot of this sort of thing is in the eye of the beholder.

My suggestion to a few of you if you are willing to listen to someone that is happily retired is to not get so defensive when someone is trying to help you through albeit, not quite diplomatic approaches. If you are at PDT and happy then who is anyone to tell you how to think otherwise. Yet when someone tries it just smile, tell them thanks but I'm pretty well off right now and leave it at that. Otherwise, IMHO one comes off as someone trying to justify the bullet he or she just fired into their own proverbial head. Because if one was truly happy at PDT and such a person really believes that working there is the place to be for them then such a person would not give a half cent's worth a care at anything Piedmonster or anyone else, including me, says about their current property.

It's been said over and over again, but Pilot's are their own worst enemy. Just look at how effectively many of you have allowed airline managers to manipulate you into being angry at each other when it's they who are the real enemy. C'mon fellas, at the end of the day it doesn't matter what livery is on the tail..you are all on the same side of the cockpit door.

Who are you Magpuller? In one of your early post you say you're from the ALG days and left a year after ther merge, in the last one you said you aspired to work here but were offered something better. In your Atlas post you said you have 3000 hours 121 SIC turbo prop time with no PIC. So who are you really and why should we listen to anything you say?

Sounds like another disgruntled former PDT FO.

Piedmonster, while your assessment might be somewhat true, you come off as real arrogant. The way you talk on here, the way you used to run you're mouth when you were employed here, you act like your Gods gift to aviation and you hold a crystal ball to the future... it's annoying...you got out, good for you...don't act like those who are still here are ignorant...I can't stand reading posts from you or bozo, it's always along the same line of "im glad I got out, im awesome, etc.....give it time, y'all will eventually get knocked down a peg

Ya, I am arrogant. So?
I'll also give someone the shirt on my back to help them. Again, So?

The way I used to run my mouth... Ya, for good reasons. I've never been afraid to speak out, I don't abide BS.
I don't hide who I am or what I'm saying, hence the reason you know exactly who I am on this forum. I speak up, you should try it some time. My free advice, make sure the ground under your feet is solid, and be ready to deal with retaliation.

Frankly, until now, I haven't been talking about or to you, nor have I thought you personally were ignorant. I don't generally talk about or directed at someone specific outside of those who post about thinking about going to work for PDT.

As to God's gift, I'm tempted, but I'm not gonna touch that one at the moment.

Getting knocked down a peg??? Bud, I've been through more crap in my life than most people you've met put together. Knocked down, you don't know me in the slightest.
I overcome adversity and challenges, and I do a lot more than fly planes for a living. I'm well diversified, this career is not an end all for me. I didn't get into this with SJS, so while I like what I do, it's not the only trick this rabbit knows. My priority is feeding my family, and putting a roof over their head. I'll crawl through $hit to do that, pride be damned. So again, kicked down a peg, I laugh at thee for such a imbecilic comment.

My priority is feeding my family and getting them under a comfortable roof also. Couldn't agree with you more on that. Except in another thread you talk about pinnacle being an infection and we should not let them jump seat ever again. So im going to take your advice and the next time I get a pinnacle guy onboard im going to deny him for taking a crappy concessionary contract and when he says hes just trying to feed his family ill say "Eff off man, that's a lame excuse....you come off to me off having this enigma of "its all about me"...I just don't think you ever put yourself in anyone else's shoes, if its not something you would do than its not right

Wow it has gotten quite hostile on here. PDT got me to where I am now. Yes I put up with 13 years of craziness but I also flew with some very talented professional folks.
I really hope PDT does not get snubbed out in this whole LCC/AA deal it would be very sad to see. It is also hard to see former Piedmont folks come on and beat the living hell out of people that are still @ PDT. Tack and professional courtesy go a long way especially in this small aviation world.

Lol, good one, if he is saying anything to/about Piedmonster, I seriously doubt it's "hello".

Man, there is arrogance and then there is ARROGANCE...you got a terminal case of both little feller.

Flying was a second career after retiring from Navy then I got hired at a long gone regional flying rickety old Chieftans and was furloughed. I then interviewed at PDT and Allegheny, got hired at both, turned down Piedmont and wound up there anyway but long after it was good airline.

Allegheny WAS the job offer genius. I was trying not to get into the whole Allegheny vs. PDT thing. I left before the fence came down and went to the right seat of a local charter turboprop, owners sold it then I got hired flying charter for more or less the same people. Where is none of your damn business. I never upgraded and never had an ATP (never needed one).

So yeah, maybe I was a little disgruntled that I wound up on the certificate and a lesser contract I chose not to work at. That makes me whatever it is you are accusing me of being why exactly?

The wife got sick of me being around and pleaded for me to get another flying job..I got an offer with Omni which later didn't work out, (thank goodness) and was interested in Atlas though I really didn't want to work at a 121 carrier again so I only half tried..

Now that you have my resume who the hell are you really and why should anyone here listen to a damn thing YOU say?

Assume much lately? Jackass.

All this from the kid that doesn't know what a concessionary contract actually is.
