PDT News and Rumors

As someone who has flown under FAR 91, 135 and FAR 121 followed by several stints overseas at what would be considered a "FAR 121 Equivalent, " I was told that this time would not count towards meeting any requirements that specifically requires experience under those parts. A foreign registered airline even when given approval to fly in/out of the States does not qualify under any of those parts. However, if as you say your current company is a FAA part 91 certificated company flying N-registered aircraft, then the part 91 time should not be an issue.

If you are operating under FAR 91 as per the FAA and you have evidence of this via the FAA company approval and your FAA proficiency checks then I would have to say that you will not have any issue with getting credit for those hours.

Yes I have prove of all of that, and the current operations specifications manual stating the operator regs.

If you choose pdt, don't expect to have many days off. You'll be flying your tail off and in return you'll gain familiarity on the aircraft fairly quickly.
FYI : Most of our lines avg 12-13 days off with 90 hour credit.
Schedule should be better if you get PHL. <-- (only my opinion)

I'm going to be completely honest with you, our schedule is pretty brutal especially if you're a commuter. You can expect to have only 11-12 days off for at least your first year here due to your seniority. Reserve call out is 75 minute now and little longer in PHL once that open.

Anyone have any idea what the chances are that a new hire will get a PHL base at PDT in the Dash? How about the ERJ? Obviously it gets easier the more jets get delivered, but with five crews per jet, the number of FOs needed will quickly increase.

We'll have an idea tomorrow @5pm est. Tuesday. the first round of the displacement bid (first PHL bid and the closing of EWN / CHO) that closed last week, PHL went SUPER junior. Both seats. We'll see what happens when the second round is posted

I probably sound like such a b*tch compared to the commutes some guys endure. Oh well, might as well search for the best accommodations possible, right?

If you could keep me posted on this, I'd be really grateful. I'm at ATP mins, just waiting on my 23rd birthday in a month. PDT seems like its the smartest move right now... Although commuting to Harrisburg wouldn't be ideal, I'm much closer to PHL.
