Alot of outsiders don't realize how well RAH does even when things are bad. Sure they have lost some profit but they are still very much making money with the 170s. The fleet they have now and the pilots they have now are MORE than enough to staff all the 170 minus the 145s and Q400s..... They do not need to grow, they don't need more business. They are very much sustainable with just the 170 operation. They want to downsize. They make much more money that way and Bedford keeps the model he pretty much created in this new pilot shortage. RAH Management maybe as$&@"'s but they are not stupid. I wouldn't even be surprised that if they do go to chap 11 they won't already have the gameplay all ready to go for the judge waiting for his blessing as they play a round of golf.... But yes... If the situation is that they lease aircraft to envoy/Piedmont, whoever the RAH pilots will do the flying. it won't ever happen tho. Even if they sale the planes to anyone (which they wouldn't) the union has a vested interest and a say about it. In a nutshell that's what the contract says. Now us getting the newer 145s from Shuttle America could def be a possibility in a sale transaction to AA. That would be more likely, but I doubt Delta would let that happen or buy them for themselves( even tho they would never use them, but to keep AA from getting them I could see them doing something like that.) That's why pilots are leaving. We are not pawns to be treated like crap, paid poorly, worked hard and unappreciated. QOL trumps everything. No matter what you do, the union does they will win. They do not see you as a human being. Just a pawn to make them money.
I had heard but could not confirm that there were five or six Eagle painted aircraft parked for staffing. Those were the ones I imagined might make their way into the envoy system. I know they prefer the lift to have a first class section and what they are generally using to cover the RAH flights does not.

I forget now, RAH has a forty aircraft firm order for United, correct? If they shed all flying other than the 175 flying, could that still be covered?

Those aircraft are no longer parked. They are operating with the rest of the AE birds. RAH has 55 United 175's on order, 3 delivered each month with 7 already on property. If the 145's and q's were all parked we would be close to staffed.

Well those planes could be easily covered by 145 crews and q400 crews... They own these planes for eagle. AMR can't use them where they want or put them on other certs because they don't own them. It's close to 50 AE 175s and 55 175s for United. Trust me. They can cover the flying tomorrow if the 145s and Qs were gone. They don't really "park" the planes. They use them as operational reserves. Seriously doubt they ever would cancel for MX. They have the 170s MX on lock over there.

We all have a lot to look forward too. That's what's important. Envoy too. PSA too. We are all apart of the same team. I just think Piedmont has it a little better because our size. Plus it's Piedmont! It doesn't matter what happens in my eyes. I am just happy to be here. Because I've seen the other side. This place is awesome. I feel proud to be apart of this organization and there are some damn good people here. It doesn't matter what they fly.
Your love story is cute and all, but the fact that you think the 3 WO's are on the same team is comical. AAG has brilliantly manipulated pilots into yet another whipsaw and will be able to play one WO against the other two for years to come. You're just as much of a pawn at PDT as you were anywhere else.

Well maybe... But I won't be an FO stuck at RAH for 5-8 yrs waiting to upgrade. I will Probably be a Capt next year and at mainline before I would have ever upgraded at RAH. Oh and I make more money too as an FO this year than I did year 2 there. I could really care less what anyone thinks about my choice. I got a smile ear to ear and my life is much better. Pawn or not. If I am still a pawn here at least I am a better paid pawn....

LOL, while that is true all Regionals are pawns. Remember Horizon now has to compete against SkyWest. AWAC will have to compete against Mesa. Republic will compete against Compass and Envoy. Everyone gets whipsawed at the Regional level.

While my time at Piedmont is coming to an end I can honestly say I've always gotten paid what I was suppose to be paid. The 4 times I wasn't paid correctly it was fix and paid in a timely manner.
I've always had healthcare that I'd put against any regional. We've got a contract that I'd put up against anyones and I have worked with some of best people ever.

The only thing missing at Piedmont was new planes and movement and good schedules. Looks like the first two have come and now schedules are the only thing needing fixing.

So it sounds like you will be keeping all your 175's. That's good. You may have to go through bankruptcy to shed some contracts though, which is bad.

It's not the end of the world though.
