The jets are still coming. Current bid is 7 captains and 8 FO's for it. Health insurance is nails. Total out of pocket per year is $600 at the office/hospital. Our monthly payments have been creeping up because of the contract though, but it's still not terrible. Expect to be in training limbo for a couple months (read "paid vacation with some studying"). Short reserve or none, short or no time to base of choice, and with 1000 121 at-will upgrade. Some frustration with the training department, schedules, and old beat-up aircraft.

Jr MDT captain is 2/22/16 hire. Which is likely fresh out of training. I pay 123.38 a paycheck for medical and 22.50 for dental and that's for the Cadillac family plan. It would be nice if I had received the $15k signing bonus haha, but I'm close to upgrade and I'll be on year 2 captain pay by football season.

I've been in the corporate side of the industry for the last five years, and I really enjoy it. However, I'm thinking about pursuing a viable path to the majors, and given the fact that I don't have enough TPIC time to go directly to the majors, I'm considering the regional airline route. I'm 42 years old though.
1) Am I getting a little too old to be starting this regional to majors track?
2) Is the "flow through" to American something that you can count on, and is roughly five or six years an accurate estimate for going from new hire Piedmont FO to Piedmont CA to new hire American FO?
3) Would I have an equally good shot at being hired by a major airline if I just continued to fly corporate over the next five years? (I'm assuming that by then I would meet their TPIC time minimums.)
Thanks a lot for any helpful replies. Much appreciated.

depends, not sure how the majors look on single pilot/corporate tpic as opposed to 121 crew time, i would think the latter would be preferable but, who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men
