I don't know about the rest of you - but I'm on the hair trigger to walk away from this biz - and I don't want anyone to lose their job but the attitude of either cave to their demands or shut it down is what put our profession down to the level of making less than most unskilled labor. Its a fact that there is an over capacity (when it comes to people out there that can and will pay for what a ticket SHOULD be). There ought to be some cuts and companys that go away to correct this and bring back some sanity to being profitable and giving us our due. - aviation is expensive no matter how you look at it - after spending the time/money/personal sacrifices I think we ought to be paid a professional wage or shut it down. Its sad that I'd be taking a pay cut moving from flying a greasy old chieftain thats older than I am to flying a 70 seat RJ. unless I get a decent offer or things turn around in another year or so I think I'll have to punch out. Skyhigh may have been far more correct/realistic than we really want to give him credit for.

So you expect thier pilots to quit the second they hear their comapny is expanding... You think everyone should throw their jobs on the line to raise the bar until its you. I think you, tpersuit, are the one with the excuses.... too bad for you guys over there at XJT.
Best of luck to you all whichever way the vote goes.

FYI, if this LOA is ratified, 50 seat captain rates will still be at the top (I think Eagle will be higher for the first year) and FO rates will be in the top third.
What 'contract' are you talking about?

If you look at how we got to this point, it wouldn't be a shocker to you. If most of the other regionals didn't surpass us, this was a direct result. We have to cut $35 million in labor costs to try and get back to cost neutral.

You can't possibly strip regional pilots of more, when they are bare-ass naked already.

I don't see why its always labor that should pay for managements urgent need for cash flow. They get paid the big bucks to make things work, not to cut their employees pay everytime the going gets tough. I'm posting in general btw, not exclusive to XJT.

I think we should be talking about pay raises, but we have no leverage right now. Just wait another 2-3 years, then it will get good for all of us in this industry. The shortage will happen, it was just delayed.

DON'T run scared.
take a stand, it's not worth it..you WONT get it back easily EVER!
Look at what has happened to Comair, Cut's freezes..NOTHING has come back..promises of growth and airplanes and NOTHING has happened but more cuts and threats and now furloughs.
