Is American Eagle hiring soon? Got a call from a friend of mine today. He said that his friend went to Texas to get an MEI, took his checkride with a check airman from Eagle and got a job offer?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's one of the most unrealistic things I've ever heard of.

Has your "friend" stopped laughing yet that you bought his story?

riddle me this?

Would this facility happen to be in Arlington, TX?
And would it happen to be an institute entitled "Multi-Engine Training"?
If so, I know this guy, I did my checkride with him and I can guarantee you, that he in no way has any input whatsoever as to who gets a job interview. All he cares for is padding his wallet. No free handouts here...

Like all sources of information, especially message boards, what you read here should always be taken with a grain of salt - you probably know this already. People here at APC represent a certain group of people whose views may or may not represent the aviation industry at large.

Thats good you are looking forward to flight instructing. I think motivation and enthusiasm to instruct have made some of the best instructors I've ever had. While I never had an instructor who was just there for the hours (Which is probably the worst), I have had lazy and apathetic instructors who have made training miserable.
