heres where I stand. I dont think its right that seemingly every RGT class has some d**che from mgmt come in and hint about staffing or retract their comments It seems like the F is close and I would rather know one way or another, thats all. Ill figure out something to do in the interim and apologize if any comments were taken the wrong way. I did not take offense to any of your comments dan, we just stand a little differently on our opinion and financial obligations right now.
Btw, we had a kid in our class get his car jacked by one of the bus drivers and his friends at the wellesley, but 3 times?

I voted for ALPA and I must say that with all the uncertainty I would truly prefer it if not only were we unionized here at SKW but that we were all (ASA & SKW) one big (around 4550 pilots) strong unified pilot group. I’m in no fear of being furloughed and a downgrade wouldn’t be that much of a pay loss (EMB CA $49 to RJ FO $40, senior FO line, no commute, no commuting cost & I now have my ATP and almost 1000 PIC). I do understand why SKW trust Jerry and Friends; they have 37 years of reasons. Even with the economy in the crapper and our flying reduced to unbelievable levels, SKW has not furloughed and is trying everything in their power not too. Regardless we are just a change at the helm away from going the other direction.
One more side note, if DAL cuts ASA anymore they will have to renegotiate the entire contract or they will lose out on SKW’s final payment of $125M that is due in October 09. Something’s got to give, the way that I see it three things can happen; SKW Inc will strengthen our future with DAL with a new contract, DAL will just pay the loss of block or they will forfeit the money. Either way you cut it, things at Inc can and will get much worse for both sides (SKW & ASA) before they get better.
Good luck all.

The thing about it is...
Management gets a hard-on for talking out their A$$ during RGT just like we do for doing the same here and other crack pipes like FI. I'm sure MM got his wee-wee spanked for that mishap.
It's not a yo-yo on a statement because no statement has been made. Until an "official" statement is made by BH/CT/SH, then there is nothing to do but sit around and get hard-ons by posting "my friend heard..." rumors to see how far they go.

Some of us junior people have financial obligations which would put us under if they drop the furlough hammer. I lose sleep every night thinking about the prospect of me being furloughed. Ever since the furlough rumors started SIX OR EIGHT MONTHS AGO I've been trying to get a job with no luck. And not for lack of trying.
But I hope you have better luck than I. Hopefully they'll "get it over with" so you don't worry about when you can start employment.
Meanwhile I'll be worrying about if I can afford to buy groceries.

Anybody else see the irony in the new L.I.F.T program. I'm all about giving to charity but when you see your married coworkers with kids struggling to make ends meet and qualifying for food stamps it's a little laughable.

When Comair MEC held T/A roadshows, some attorneys from ALPA National presented. One said that the no-furlough clause was useless at the regional level and not worth keeping. I believe his words were "indefensible in court".
He added that it wasn't worth the paper it was printed on if the company didn't have enough airplanes to justify the pilots. I got the impression ALPA National would not bother to fight that fight.
Long story short, the BK judge agreed with management and the clause went away.
Maybe ASA's ALPA National attorneys will be braver than Comair's ALPA National attorneys. After all, in 2006 ALPA wasn't "Takin' it back" yet.
