Tell me somthing I dont know! geez. I know my lot in life. Eagle is good airline and yes some captains are old crusty and not open to sugestion. This is NOT THE NORM. Besides name an airline outside Mesa and Go Jet that will have upgrade time inside 5 years in the forseable future. If you can the list, is short and not distinguished. QOL and Schedule are more important to some people.

I haven't flown with any bitter Captains...or crusty ones...or really rude ones. They've all been quite pleasant. I've had a jerk or two, a non-stop touch everything even though its the FO's leg, and one that intimidated the hell out of me because he had over 10,000 hrs in the ATR and pretty much mind-melded with the machine and had no true need for an FO. But no really crusty, bitter, miserable old people. My opinion has always been respected and my input valued, I've been treated well and respected.
One the whole, I find having older Captains around is a good thing. I have learned a lot from the people I've flown with - things they have learned over years and YEARS of experience. Compare that with a person who was an FO for 2 or 3 years before upgrading to CA - they may have a small amount of knowledge to pass on compared to the guy with 10,000 in the plane. I prefer having that knowledge there.
(PS, the 10,000+ hour guy did not purposely intimidate me, I allowed myself to be intimidated because he had 200 times my time in the aircraft and I didn't think I would do anything right for him.)

I don't understand it but it happens. I do think Eagle will be hiring in early summer. But this career fair doesnt make me raise my eyebrows at all. I think its too early. It may depend on if the displaced DFW jet pilots will displace to the ATR to staff what Eagle needs staffed.

We don't have a KMKE domicile yet........if we did, perhaps more would be staying.

Every American pilot I've talked to thinks differently. You should look at the thread where they plan on shutting you down. When they talk about Eagle they think of a four letter word which begins with S and ends with B.

And do you really think that if Eagle were to do some new flying for a new airline, would you or anyone else really refuse to do it?
