Some, I think a small majority, are very anti-Eagle. They make no apologies about it either. Its alright. I'm anti-AA. I think we could do without them more than the other way around. They want to control Eagle and they can't, that upsets them.

Yeah I've had some great discussions with AA Captains who think Eagle should be sold off, shut down, closed, thrown away, etc. I've always wanted to say "screw you" to these guys and "try filling your lousy Super-80 without Eagle as feed"...maybe someday I will, just to see their response. I'll wait until I'm not a probationary guy anymore first.

The industry is way bigger than either AA or eagle pilots. The old guys at legacy carriers need to stop whining about these scab regionals taking all their flying, just as much as regional pilots need to realize that yes, the mainline carriers dictate pretty much everything, and no, there is nothing you can do about it.

Face it: both AA and eagle need each other. MD 80's would not be full without eagle, and nobody every would want to take an E145 to Chicago or Dallas if there is no connecting flight to catch.

Yeah - Can't we all just get along????
I never understood all the infighting with AA vs. Eagle. We're both owned by the same company. We're both working towards the same goal. We go to the same school!
FWIW, the above statements about AA were in jest. Although not the "screw you" part. I've really wanted to say that to those captains that talk about being happy when there is no more Eagle.

AA wants Eagle shut down because we do flights like ORD to JFK. Most of our routes are F100’s routes. However AA pilots need to be reminded that we are not flying AA routes. Its that they did not want to fly them. AA pilots gave up scope and pay to make Eagle what it is now.
AA will most likely shut Eagle down and AMR will outsource 19 seat prop flying with someone like Big Sky to supply feed. The other options are a divestiture or a shutdown at the end of our contract. We will all need to keep our log books up to date and interview skills sharp in the next few years.
Eagle has some of the most senior pilot group and most senile. The average age difference between captains and first officer is between 20 to 30 years. You can learn along but also be careful of what they say.

Hahaha..
I always find it hilarious how at little old eagle, we have way more morale good times and friendly cheer, in our cockpit, than any AA cockpit i've ever been in. Just an observation.

Both AA and AE have very senior pilot groups(and management), and in the course of the past 20 yrs there have been things said and done on all sides of the fence that have been offensive to each other. If everyone can let go of the past and try for a better future we might have some strength.

There's gotta be a lot of retiring to come there in the next 5-10 years.
