I heard from an AA guy that his son interviewed at Eagle this week??? Got a July class date or something. A lot can happen in 6 months, but thats just what I heard. But since AA is recalling a few furloughees, I'm guessing some are Eagle guys and they will need to be replaced.

All rumor until confirmed. Nobody knows. Hiring in light of capacity reductions seems unlikely. Hiring in light of the second worst quarter in history seems unlikely. It will be at least a month before anything is known. They will have to decide what routes are getting cut, staffing levels required, future outlook, etc.
Nobody will know until the day it happens, and then it will be up here in about 20 seconds.

the tittle of the thread should have a question mark...
anyhows, i interviewed last spring and was invited to fly down for a sim ride and than we all remember what happened...
really hope they start hiring...even though i prob dont stand much of a chance with all of the experience on the streets these days.

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news but anyone who says hiring is likely is seriously confused. There are 2 conditions for hiring: attrition of the pilot group and additional airplanes. Eagle is parking airplanes and according to the newest seniority list I have moved up in 6 months a total that can be counted on 2 hands. I would be very surprised to see hiring for at least 1 year.

The earliest they are talking is later summer hiring (not classes but hiring) so that would leave a august maybe september class. However that wouldn't make sense because thats the end of the summer season so your back t square one again.

You also failed to mention, that with so very many experienced pilots on the streets, there will be very little interest in folks under 1,000 hours unless they are from a few of the affiliate bridge programs.... and even then, they won't be in a hurry to hire them as long as the supply of experienced pilots keeps flowing.
There is no sense in spending tons of money trying to train a new hire, hoping they will pass.... when there are plenty of pilots who have already proven they have what it takes to make it through long term events.
So, while I agree that hiring will resume around August/September... these 400 hour wonder pilots should not be expecting anything for a long long long time to come.
