Since someone mentioned Seattle and the OUTRAGEOUS $15 minimum wage. A standard work week there will yield $30k a year. Try living on that in Seattle or NYC.
And here I thought minimum wage was for my first job in high school. Didn’t know I was supposed to be able to buy a house with that. PS, tip your van drivers.

Yea it does make you a douche. It’s $1. Should be $2 but we don’t want to break the bank now do we?

This is such a stupid thread. Literally arguing about giving away money. Tip if you feel you must, don't if you don't want to or simply ran out of singles for the day.

Either way, not the end of the world and anyone that is going to make a rash judgment about another pilot simply based on a tip or not really is the one with the problem, not the other way around. I suppose when we go to eat we all need to show how much we are tipping so our fellow employees can judge us and determine if we are worthy of their respect and time?

This whole argument is dumb. Tip if you have cash on you, don't tip if you don't. Anyone who judges you on that is a self righteous Richard. Personally I rarely carry cash and I don't give a ****.

Funny thing is, I'm not talking about minimum wage. So many people complain about $15/hr minimum wage because it's outrageous. If you have an hourly job in the US, $15/he is a pretty good wage. An average HVAC tech makes $20/hr or $40k a year.

Standard tip is a buck a bag. If you travel like a Sherpa with lots of bags you need to tip more.

And what is good service by a van driver anyway? Get us there alive? Keep yer trap shut if it’s 2am or cackle like a meth addict?
Half the time they just stand there holding the back door open.
