My understanding is that the only line our union draws is in the interest of their cushy positions and cozy relationship with management. The group that's been in power the last 8 years or so is no better then the one before it.
Enjoy your open time. When leaders lead then you may follow, until then it appears every pilot for himself.

That's just it.... the union CAN'T do that. Your a college educated person right? How about investing just a little time to find out about the laws governing your profession.
They can send out emails, and reminders about flying safe, not pushing yourself too hard, not risking being fatigued and things such as that, but they CAN NOT put out something that would directly be viewed as a job action.
What they can say, the have... it is up to you to read between the lines. However, since you refuse to do the right thing, until the union does the wrong/illegal thing by telling you too... I guess the rest of your coworkers shouldn't expect much from you.
and you are correct, I do not work there. That doesn't mean I never worked for, or don't still work for AMR, but I am not on Eagles payroll.

I know they can't. I'm not ignorant to that fact. I'm also a moral person. I refuse to purposefully break the law. It is against my religion. A work action, spoken or unspoken would to me be a sin. Criticize me all you want, all you'll be doing is criticizing anybody who stands up for what he/she believes in. If eagle hired 2 years worth of FOs like me I am proud of them. My coworkers cannot and should not expect anything illegal from me. I solely made a observation of your work status from your previous post, no insinuation included. I have a book that tells me what's right, how do you know what's right for me?

alright alright, here's a good one. Talk amongst the rank and file is that the 2nd group, those being furloughed on June 1st, might not get furloughed. Apparently staffing numbers are tight as it is.
This might just be another observation by someone on SABRE and they feel that this is what will happen but who knows.
Today is my last day with Eagle before the furlough. I picked up OT!!! GAHHHHH Just a short little YUL turn to get one last try at flying the thing.
To me the furlough was inevitable. When everyone else in the neighborhood is having a garage sale its only a matter of time before your boss wants to have one. The past year has been pretty hectic yet always entertaining for me. I understand this whole paying your dues thing but no matter who you are sitting S-1 day after day or sitting in your crashpad on RAP never getting called and flying 5 hours a month is no way to live no matter who you are. This is probably rock bottom or close to it so things can only get better. When that will be and how fast? Who knows.
People will pick up OT and you know what? Let them. Management will not recall me because there is too much open time. They'll just build another composite line or something. They'll recall me because available pilots day to day will be low and when bad wx strikes they'll really be in a pickle.
I'm fortunate because I never really left my old flying job and am right back in it. The Mrs. also has a decent paying job that'll help out. We shall see.
